filter and throttle body cleaning with finger tips and carb spray. upon
completion of the job, i tried to start the vehicle. no dice. checked fuel
pressure good, air supply as good as it has ever been. no ...

My wife's 2000 CR-v now has 50K miles and I am going to do the
servicing on it. The Chiltons manual says that I should use Honda
genuine Coolant and transmission fuild. Is there a reason I cant just
use generic stuff from the auto parts store ?

Honda (and Toyota) sell a lot of cars thanks to an image (popularized by
the media) of making ultra-reliable vehicles.
Why then doesn't Honda give at least a 5 year, 75k mile warranty for all
          items outside of normal wear (tires, brakes, etc.)??????

I have a '97 Accord.  The driver side power window died in 2001, so I had the
dealer fix it (so presumably they used genuine honda parts).  Now it died
again, so it seems like it only lasts for 4 years.  What's up with that?

Other then going to a dealer to have installed (where dealer tried to
sell it to me for $1000), can one have purchase a retrofit kit or have
this retrofit done somewhere to add keyless lock for a 2003 CRV?  I
suspect if so it will be a lot less then dealer charges.
