We've got a new Element and love it. Only problem is, we have an infant and a your daughter, and occasionally need room for a fifth person. Is there an aftermarket bench seat that we can slap into the Element on the same clips, turning it into something that seats five

| Advice for buying used Accord/Civic, please? | 21 Aug 2005 01:24 GMT | 28 |
My husband and I are looking for a cheap but reliable 2nd car. We've found the resale value of VWs (our first choice) to be kinda high, so we thought we might check out Hondas. We need to fit 2 adults, 2 dogs, and a baby potentially, so that means 4 doors.

| Is rustproffing really necessary? | 20 Aug 2005 18:09 GMT | 2 |
I just bought a used 2001 Honda Civic and I love it!! Question though...Should I get the car professionally rust proofed? The car has the original factory rust proofing already. I can tell because there is a residue in the trunk, hood, etc. (all 'rust prone' areas).

| 2005 CRV Reliability etc? | 20 Aug 2005 06:16 GMT | 3 |
I am thinking of leasing a 2005 CRV LX 4WD around May of this year, and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on some of the drivability, owner satisfaction, handling, versatility, complaints or any repairs beyond normal maintenance on this model or possibly 2003-2005 CRV's.

| Curious about automatic window | 20 Aug 2005 05:40 GMT | 2 |
I had my '03 Accord in for 30,000-mi servicing and mentioned a dashboard squeak. They replaced and A pillar and the rubberized ring around the driver's window. It did nothing whatsoever for the squeak, but it did result in the auto-up and auto-down function on that window

| Easy test for worn rings | 20 Aug 2005 04:57 GMT | 3 |
When I spent time working with a certified mechanic, I was taught that the easiest way to determine if an engine had worn rings was to do a compression check. While reading a Tom and Ray column in the local newspaper, I learned

I have a 2000 Ody LX, and a friend of mine has a 2001 Ody LX. In the span of about 6 weeks- BOTH our trannys went (thankfully under wty!) Mine had only 70,000 kms, and my buddy's had 102,000 kms. The "problem" with those trannys has been rectified with the replacements

| 1998 Accord V6 idle air control | 20 Aug 2005 04:06 GMT | 1 |
I have a recurring OBDII 0505 code, which my Haynes manual says is the IAC valve. All the checks I've tried (idle speed (about 650-700), idle variation when I remove the connector, voltage to the valve) seem normal. It looks to me like all the hoses are connected, although I may
