2006 Civic LX mpg27 Jun 2006 18:05 GMT3
Just got back from a Tennessee-Minnesota roundtrip.
2006 Honda Civic LX, MT, now with ~4500 miles on it. Almost all
driving with A/C.
Highest mpg: 42.09 -- Freeway + some town driving, avg 60mph.
I put on a new head and set everything up right but now...27 Jun 2006 15:07 GMT9

SMoky Starts27 Jun 2006 10:26 GMT1
I recently left my 05 civic hybrid for about a week without driving it.
Although it started immediately, there was quite a bit of blackish/greyish
smoke for the first 10 seconds or so.  Is this normal? If not, what might I
expect when I take it to the dealer?  The car has about ...
2000 Accord Oxygen Sensor CEL code 116727 Jun 2006 02:14 GMT1
Just thought I'd share what I found out about o2 sensors.
My 2000 Accord EX ULEV (the ULEV is important to note) had the Check
Engine Light come on.  Honda diagnosed it with codes P1166 and P1167
which could be due to a faulty O2 sensor or a faulty bung (where the O2
check tire pressure?26 Jun 2006 23:30 GMT1
Here is possibly the most random question. What is the recomondation
for checking your tire pressure (meaning how often, not how to do it)?
I have never heard anything, and even after checking the paperwork from
the tire manufacturer when I bought my tires it just said "often". What
Civic front end popping26 Jun 2006 23:23 GMT4
My 2000 Civic has a popping sound on the front drivers side.  It pops when
you hit a dip, turn or first take off.  Sort of like when it's in a bind
etc.  It will only pop once per event so I don't think it's a cv joint.
Anyone seen this or have any idea where to begin?  I had a ...
Wal-Mart Oil vs. Name Brand Oil26 Jun 2006 21:12 GMT1
I was in Wal-Mart to buy some engine oil and I noticed that they now have a
store brand (Super Tech, I think) Fully Synthetic oil.  The 5 qt container
sells for $12 something.  Considering that "brand" name synthetic oils sell
for 2 or 3 times that amount, I was tempted to give ...
1998 honda civic a/c compressor replacement...26 Jun 2006 21:09 GMT2
When I turn on the A/C in my 1998 Honda Civic EX....I get the feeling
that the engine is stalling. The dealer checked it and told me that the
A/C compressor must  be replaced and the total charge for the
replacement including labor is 1,200/- I checked the price of the
Using A Different Oil Than Spec26 Jun 2006 19:56 GMT18
2001 Civic LX - Supposed to use 5W-20 (I think that's what it says on
the cap). I used 10W-40. It's what a mechanic recommended.
Not the 1st time I've used a diff oil than spec. Just wondering if
there can be bad consequences if I use the wrong motor oil?
90 Accord Tie Rod Ends Pt III26 Jun 2006 14:45 GMT2
A portion of the previous post is possibly misleading... the hub and backing
plate have to be removed from the steering knuckle before the ball joint can
be removed.  You use an E14 internal star socket for that with an air
wrench.  Then flip the knuckle over, swap the E14 for a ...
Thrown Rod on Isuzu Trooper26 Jun 2006 14:30 GMT8
I tried inquring about this at the one Usenet Isuzu
newsgroup but am not getting any feedback.
Friends of mine have a 2000, 3.5 Liter, 4-wheel drive,
automatic transmission, Isuzu Trooper. While driving it up a
98-02 Accord CD changer install question.26 Jun 2006 10:06 GMT1
Semi repost.  Apologies in advance.
98 Accord EX V6 coupe:  I want to put in a 6-disc in-dash changer from
a 2002 Accord 4-DR in my 2 DR.  Specifically, does anyone have personal
experience with the wiring difference?  I don't know what the speaker
1998 Honda Accord LX Wont Start With Key26 Jun 2006 05:15 GMT6
I have a 1998 Honda Accord LX that I purchased used and the car has run
fine up until a year ago where the car would just randomly shut off.
After lots of trouble shooting I found that the problem was in the
ignition cylinder, if I hit a bump the key would move slightly and the
O2 sensor wiring question26 Jun 2006 04:54 GMT17
I bought a generic O2 sensor for my 2000 Accord EX. The sensor heater wires
are the same color, white on the old one, black on the new one. Is the
heater circuit positive / negative sensitive?
I installed it using the old connector and get an almost immediate CEL with
Setting Toe26 Jun 2006 04:49 GMT31
Without serious modifications, my 91 Civic (among other
Honda models) permits only one alignment angle to be
adjusted: Toe.
Has anyone here set the toe themselves? If so, what tools
