My daughter drives a 97 Civic EX that we have owned since new.
It has 80K miles on it.  We just got it looked at Gillman Honda here
in Houston and they want to replace the clutch disk, pressure plate,
throwout bearing, hydraulic slave and master cylinders.
86 prelude 2.0SI A/C gone04 Aug 2006 13:47 GMT2
Just bought an old 86 prelude 2.0SI for next to nothing. The reason it
was next to nothing was that this is Southern Louisiana and the A/C is
gone. The compressor is still there but I just got off the horn with
the mechanic and he says that when old honda a/c's went bad they fouled

CR-V -- rattling sounds when turning at slow speeds04 Aug 2006 05:37 GMT9
Our '1999 Honda CR-V makes rattling sounds when I try to turn it
sharply at slow speeds. This applies to turning both ways, right and
left, but to slightly different extent.
What would be a likely issue? I would prefer to go to a dealer after
2006 civic; MPG seeing and amount paid.04 Aug 2006 05:12 GMT62
OK here is the deal,  I am about to start commuting about 240 miles a
day so I'm looking to buy a new car.  My top choice is a 2006 civic LX.
I also need to stay south of the 20 grand mark- so no hybrids.  Used
isn't out of the question but civics hold too much value.  15k for an
99 & 2000 Civic SI fuel mileage?04 Aug 2006 04:28 GMT5
Please correct me if I am wrong but I think that the 99 & 2000 Civic SI
is the one with the 1.6 twin cam V-Tech and that is the car I am
interested in.
I have been thinking about looking for a used SI of this era but I was
Were the '96 - '99 Civics the best of the line?03 Aug 2006 23:01 GMT4
My daughter just totaled our '97 Odyssey and, since this fall all 3 kids
will be in college, I am pondering replacing it with a smaller vehicle.
Thing is, we had a '96 Civic (eldest son totaled years ago) and it seemed to
be the best car we've ever had. It handled and drive very ...
Electrical help needed03 Aug 2006 15:26 GMT5
Last month I went on vacation for 3 weeks, during this time it rained like
heck on my civic. When I returned from vacation, I started my Civic and
immediately got a "Charge System" light, and "ABS" light and a "SRS" light.
The next day the car wouldn't start. I pulled out the ...

92 Honda Civic Hesitations03 Aug 2006 06:53 GMT1

I have a 92 Honda Civic and was performing quite well until recently.
When reaching 40 and aprox. 60 miles per hour and when pressed the gas
pedal, I noticed the engine hesitating.  Has anyone had the same

A/C in 88 Accord not working03 Aug 2006 04:34 GMT4
After I had the AC retrofitted to r134 and charged, a year later it
doesn't work. Alsoo have problems with the fan switch. i learned that a
loss of pressure(below a certain point, in the system) will disable the
compressor from engaging(for those who were wondering) it does that to
2001 civic suspension starting to act wonky03 Aug 2006 03:58 GMT1
2001 Civic with 22K miles on it. The front suspension makes an odd
noise at low speed when it hits a pothole. Kind of like if you bounced
a ball and didn't let it bounce back up, i.e., a lot of very small
bounces. On the highway certain expansion joints or potholes (not all)

AC not working in 92 Accord.  Holding charge, appears that the compressor
doesn't kick on when the switch is pressed.  Any ideas?
