We are working on a Honda 90 Accord, F22A4 open deck aluminum block. One of the head bolts pulled the threads out on removal. This was not noticed until the head was repaired and reassembly was attempted. The threads are recessed approximately 2 inches below the deck surface. The

| Replacing Civic Manual Transmission | 10 Oct 2006 16:04 GMT | 7 |
I have a 97 Civic with a manual transmission and about 160,000 miles. It's been recommended by a mechanic that I replace the transmission. (Tried replacing the fluid, and the symptomatic noise didn't go away.) What is the fair cost one should expect to pay for replacing this?

We have a 1999 Ody EX. A few weeks ago the driver's side power door started coming to a stop with a bang when opened. I took a look at it and realized that the little piece of rubber situated at the top of the door assembly was missing. This piece of rubber is what the door SHOULD

| Has anyone had to replace the alternator on the first generation CRV yet? | 10 Oct 2006 13:59 GMT | 4 |
Just wondering. I have 145,000 miles on my '98 V and I'm starting to worry about the alternator stranding me in the middle of nowhere. The alternator on my '88 Accord died at the 168,000 mile mark so I'm kinda using that as a guideline.

I'm embarking on a valve adjustment for my '95 civic DX. I'm not noticing anything that would lead me to believe a valve problem, it's just way overdue for a valve check. I've never done this before, however, and I just wanted to make sure I'm doing this right. I've

Is anyone keeping an accurate record of fuel consumption in their 2006 model Civic? My fuel consumption is way off the mark and I'm wondering if there is something wrong or if the fuel mileage of the '06 Civic really is that much

| rubber engine mount | 10 Oct 2006 06:34 GMT | 2 |
My mechanic told me that the rubber engine mounts on my 2001 Civic need to be replaced. He said that they seem to be a common issue for that generation. Can I see the rubber to confirm? Or is it hidden from view?

| Intermittent horn failure | 10 Oct 2006 01:40 GMT | 2 |
Hi, I have a 98 Accord and the horn is intermittently failing. Sometimes no matter how hard I press, there is no sound. Other times, it will beep even with a soft tap. Obviously, though, this is a safety issue. If I needed to warn someone and the horn didn't sound, there could ...

| Honda Fit Handling | 09 Oct 2006 19:00 GMT | 2 |
The paragraph below is from a British review of the Honda Jazz. While the engine is different, the suspension is probably the same. I wonder if the instability he mentions in corners is because of the torsion-beam rear suspension.

I had the radio controls on the steering wheel repaired and when I got the car back one of the bulbs in the dash was burnt out. I blamed the dealer, I don't believe in coincidence, but they refused to take responsibility and charged me 100 bucks for the repair. What is the
