Are the brake disk retaining screws necessary? I had to drill mine out and one source said they are only in there to hold the disc in place during assembly at the factory. As usual, thanks in advance.

| Bad Timing Belt? | 01 Oct 2006 23:19 GMT | 29 |
The timing belt on my '95 Civic ESi (1.6L SOHC) is about 4 years old, and was used for less than 40K kms (25K miles). But I notice it had deep cracks on the outer (smooth) side, at each gap between the teeth. The cracks are mostly very straight, and so the belt looks "segmented".
