I hope somebody can help me figure out this terrible problem I have
with my Honda Civic.

Hi i was wondering if anyone could solve my problem ....
i have a 1989 honda civic with 150 000 km and it is burning oil like
crazy 4 litres a week i think. When i floor the gas there is a cloud
of grey smoke, but not all the time?.......

anyone here has ever changed the AC condenser/drier/etc on a late 90's
Civic, Accord, or other comparable vehicle.
The AC condenser clutch on my '97 Civic gave out about a year ago.

There is a warning light on the dashboard that goes on sometimes
indicating a brake or brakelight problem, usually when it's wet out.
There was actually even a burned out brakelight once.
While driving over the weekend, wet out, that light was on, and then

so i replaced my 89 civic's alternator this weekend [nearly 160k miles]
and thought it would be good to pass a few things onto the group.
1. you /do/ need to remove the driveshaft!  don't waste time messing
about.  if you go straight there, it's quicker and simpler than messing
