Use of sealer on head gasket?13 Sep 2008 00:51 GMT6
Well, I got my new head gasket from the local Honda dealer after a few days
wait. It had a big dent in it, about a quarter inch from one of the coolant
ports. Told the guy that after all of the work that I've been through, I
wanted a smooth one. He reordered and I got it ...
2001 Honda Civic Engine Died12 Sep 2008 13:10 GMT8
My daughter was driving to school on the freeway when the engine just
died. Luckily someone helped her get to the side of the road, but she
was very scared. The check engine light came on and the car wouldn't
start. After about 15 to 20 minutes the car did start and she was able
Replacing hoses?12 Sep 2008 04:48 GMT5
Well, still working on the head gasket replacement on my 89 Accord. I'm
gonna be replacing a bunch of coolant hoses and was wondering what everybody
else does. I usually clean up the metal part, that the hose is going on,
with some plumber's sand paper and then use whatever is at ...
What Questions Should I Ask When Buying a Used Honda?12 Sep 2008 03:05 GMT13
I'm looking for a used Honda.  A casual friend may sell me his '05 Honda
Civic 30K, factory serviced, standard transmission, power windows.  I don't
know what else it has or the size engine.  He drives around 8K - 10k a year.
He told me because of the low mileage he doesn't get ...

Sept. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Keihin Corp. , a fuel-pump supplier and affiliate of Honda Motor Co. , declined the most in four months in Tokyo after UBS AG said the parts-maker may bear at least half of the 8.6 billion yen ($80 million) of costs in a ...
Timing Belt Replacement 99 Accord Ex 4 cyl AT (93,000 miles)10 Sep 2008 15:17 GMT5
The Dealer quoted me a price of $782 (in Texas) to replace the timing
belt, balancer belt, water pump, "and a couple of oil seals".
This seems high to me, but then everything seems high these days.  I
have a couple of questions for the group.
New Civic Oil Change Question10 Sep 2008 05:13 GMT6
The new Civics have a digital readout on the oil quality. The dealer said
we should change the oil at 40%. Is that just the first oil change or all
changes? Should we wait until 10% or less?
Thanks, Wayne

Interior quality issues on latest gens of Hondas?10 Sep 2008 03:37 GMT4
I was skimming customer comments on Civics and Accords at Edmunds.com and
interior quality issues appear to loom large on the lower ratings.
Scratching noises while turning steering wheel10 Sep 2008 03:35 GMT5
I have recently started to hear scratching noises while turning the
steering wheel on my '97 Accord.  How critical of a problem is this?
If it's just a minor annoyance, then I will hold off on fixing it
until the next time I need to take my car in for maintenance.

Honda's new oil change interval09 Sep 2008 19:59 GMT10
Not sure if anyone has posted this but I just wanted to make the group
aware that with the new MM system, if you take your car to the dealer,
the dealer is not obligated to replace the filter on the A1 changes,
just the B1 changes. It's part of Honda's ecco-friendly image.
