Well, I got my new head gasket from the local Honda dealer after a few days wait. It had a big dent in it, about a quarter inch from one of the coolant ports. Told the guy that after all of the work that I've been through, I wanted a smooth one. He reordered and I got it ...

My daughter was driving to school on the freeway when the engine just died. Luckily someone helped her get to the side of the road, but she was very scared. The check engine light came on and the car wouldn't start. After about 15 to 20 minutes the car did start and she was able

| Timing Belt Replacement 99 Accord Ex 4 cyl AT (93,000 miles) | 10 Sep 2008 15:17 GMT | 5 |
The Dealer quoted me a price of $782 (in Texas) to replace the timing belt, balancer belt, water pump, "and a couple of oil seals". This seems high to me, but then everything seems high these days. I have a couple of questions for the group.

| New Civic Oil Change Question | 10 Sep 2008 05:13 GMT | 6 |
The new Civics have a digital readout on the oil quality. The dealer said we should change the oil at 40%. Is that just the first oil change or all changes? Should we wait until 10% or less? Thanks, Wayne

I have recently started to hear scratching noises while turning the steering wheel on my '97 Accord. How critical of a problem is this? If it's just a minor annoyance, then I will hold off on fixing it until the next time I need to take my car in for maintenance.

| Honda's new oil change interval | 09 Sep 2008 19:59 GMT | 10 |
Not sure if anyone has posted this but I just wanted to make the group aware that with the new MM system, if you take your car to the dealer, the dealer is not obligated to replace the filter on the A1 changes, just the B1 changes. It's part of Honda's ecco-friendly image.
