Corolla v Civic v Hyundai/Nissan moeds17 May 2008 04:38 GMT93
Our old Camry is showing its age (~12 years) and we have decided to
look for a new car but budget down to "Corolla level". I said "level"
as I am open to competing models from Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, etc.
I would appreciate your help in choosing the model, as well as the
Maint. req. light/timing belt17 May 2008 04:25 GMT4
I have a 2000 Accord.   When I start the car the Maint. Required light
flashes for a while.  I think I recall that means routine maintenance.
The car has 51,000 miles.  One of the service techs at Honda told me
once that timing chains should automatically be changed at 50,000 ...
economics of driving17 May 2008 00:49 GMT5
Dear Forumers,
Say I can choose between two cars. The gas mileage of the first car is
25. The gas mileage of the second car is 30. Let us say that the cost
of gas is 4$ per gallon.
Plan on driving a new car on a 3000mile highway trip.  Bad idea?17 May 2008 00:34 GMT25
I was planning on taking my soon to take possession Pilot on a trip
which will consist mostly of highway driving of about 3000mile drive
and been told that that's not such a good idea because you don't want
to drive a brand new car on the highway for any extended amount if you

Tegger's 'Teg needs a cat...16 May 2008 16:42 GMT13
...because the original has a rust hole in it, which has rendered it noisy.
New Honda OEM cats are $1,100, and are discontinued for my car, to boot. I
am therefore reduced to trolling the aftermarket, for which I have a
healthy distrust.
OT; Nitrogen filled tires16 May 2008 13:50 GMT8
Just wondered what if topping up with ordinary air to a nitrogn filled
tires. What would happen? Good, bad or any harm?
Accord Replacement Keys16 May 2008 04:15 GMT14
We lost one of the keys to our 2003 Accord EX-V6 last year.  As a
result we had to go to the Honda dealer, and pay $100 for a new key,
and re-programming of all the keys.  This is supposed to be a security
safeguard.  Today, we found the long lost key.  Just for my amusement,
Shifting the 2008 Accord EXL auto like a manual16 May 2008 03:44 GMT27
I have a 2008 Accord EX-L and its an Auto. Everyone now and then I like to
put the car in 1 at a red light and shift up to 2 at about 4500 rpms and
then to D3 at about 4500 rpms etc. I am wondering if this upshifting and
downshifting practice is bad to do? I make sure that I ...
95 CIVIC 1.5 GRADUALLY LOSES COOLANT--15 May 2008 04:23 GMT28
The engine runs flawlessly and gets 45 MPG local driving and 54 MPG
highway.
Every 1,000 miles or so, I need to add about a pint of coolant each to
the radiator and the reservoir.
Hard to get off Spark Plug Boots14 May 2008 14:12 GMT4
Hard to get off Spark Plug Boots
If you ever have a spark plug boot that is hard to get off one way
that has worked good for me is to take a 2-3 foot 3/16 brake line and
screw it into a air nozzle and then file the end of the line to look
hydrolock 01 integra gsr14 May 2008 06:46 GMT16
Ok few days ago at night I got stuck in a flooded area and now I have
some water in my engine.  I had the car towed home and the next day I
took out the spark plugs and sucked out the water from each cylinders.
The first two cylinders had some water but the last two didn't.  From
