I am wondering if anyone has had this problem. I have a 1999 Tiburon with 70k miles and when driving the transmission locks in 3rd gear. It happens intermitenly, no matter if the car is cold or hot. And it does not happen all the time...in fact most of the time the car shifts ...

| Interchangeability between Lantra (Europe) and Elantra (US)? | 17 Aug 2004 17:53 GMT | 3 |
I have a 2000 Elantra GLS wagon that I bought in the US. About 1.5 years after I bought it, the automatic transmission needed to be replaced under warranty. Hyundai stood by it, no problem. Since that time, I have moved to Germany and shipped the car here as well.

| Sonata gas mileage | 17 Aug 2004 17:52 GMT | 11 |
You know, I just had to throw in a comment here about mileage after reading a couple of posts saying 2003-4 2.7L V6's getting over 30 mpg hwy. Those folks who are doing over 30mpg with this engine are either not calculating their mileage properly, or are driving 50mph over FLAT

| Replace tail lamp 2002 Elantra | 17 Aug 2004 00:41 GMT | 2 |
Has anyone replaced a tail lamp bulb on a Elantra? I assume you get access from the trunk. I removed the two screws to remove the formed cover. And the 3 nuts that hold on the lamp housing assembly. The fourth is covered in rubber. I can not get the rubber cover off easily. I do not ...

| 2004 Elantra Passenger Airbag Problem | 16 Aug 2004 18:09 GMT | 10 |
The system is designed to active the airbag only if someone over 56lbs sits in the seat. The problem is in reality it takes someone over 150lbs to consitently keep the sensor activated. that means theres a chance that the airbag may not deploy in an accident. hyuandai has ...

| 2003 XG350L antifreeze....extended life or normal? | 16 Aug 2004 00:56 GMT | 2 |
My Dad has a 2003 XG350L with about 12,000 miles on it. Unfortunately, he put windshield washer fluid in the antifreeze overflow bottle. He lives about 100 miles from the nearest dealer, so I thought I would check here.

Hi All, I checked the gas mileage for the first time since I got my 6 cylinder Sonata. I got 21.4 MPG, all city driving. Not bad! I'll be taking a 400 mile freeway trip (one way) at the end of the month and I'll post the freeway mileage then.

| 2002 Sonata, brake rotors and pads? | 15 Aug 2004 00:04 GMT | 6 |
I have a 2002 Sonata in need of new brake rotors and pads but I can't seem to find any auto parts dealers in my area who have them in stock. A friend told me that the 2002 Sonata uses the same rotors as the 2001. Is there any truth in that?

| Injector servicing: can I do it myself? | 14 Aug 2004 03:53 GMT | 2 |
I have a '99 Excel X3 (here Australia they call them excel, where I *think* you call them accent in USA) It has the fuel injected twin cam engine. How much work is it to take out the injectors for a cleanup, or is it strictly a workshop job?

| Replacing timing belt on Santa Fe | 14 Aug 2004 03:46 GMT | 3 |
Has anyone done this here? I can't find a manual locally and nothing on the web as I can find. I do see references here and there about it rated as a 2 or 2 1/2 hour job so something that needs doing isn't obvious to me. Thanks.
