does anyone know if the accent or elantra would be suitable for towing a
small popup tent trailer?

The dealer asks me to change the engine oil every 5,000Km or 6 months, and
3,000Km for the 1st time. But the user manual says: change the engine oil
every 12,000Km or 12 months.
Which one should I follow? Thx.

It varies with vehicle speed, not engine RPM

I've been noticing a lot of mud splatter in the engine compartment after driving in the rain (just wet roads, not through big puddles).  Does the Elantra have a splash shield that should minimize this?

 I have this 2001 XG with just shy of 80,000 KM or 50,000 miles on it .
It's running great & I LOVE my car but here in Canada, I'm 4 days out of
warranty & the check engine light has come on & stayed on today.  I live in

Do I have to take the car to the dealer for scheduled maintenance, or
can I have it done anywhere?  What sort of proof do I need to prove I
had the work done so my warranty isn?t invalidated - is the receipt
enough?

To give you a little history of the problem... after warming up (and often
when going up hills), this 92 Excel stutters, and almost looses power, but
not all the time, maybe 75% of the time. At other times it seems to surge.
Spark plugs, cables, idle control, fuel filter, and oxygen ...

My 16 year old daughter needs a new car for school and part time work.

I recently had the car serviced and the shop declined to change the fuel filter, saying that it is located inside the gas tank.  Is that correct, and how difficult a job is it to R&R the filter?  

I drive 60 miles round trip every day, so MPG is importatnt.  Experienced
Sonata owners....what is your actual MPG.  The 60 miles is 90%  60-70mph and
I get 27-30 in the ZX3.  I have never got close to there Highway estimate.

Hi. I just bought a used 2000 Sonata. Nice car. I'm planning on a weekend
trip and was trying to figure out how to use the cruise control. I don't
have a car manual and can't find the info the net so either I'm not doing
something right or the cruise control doesn't work.

Has anybody experience about, or suggestions?
