Timing belt replacement01 May 2005 00:21 GMT1
When I had the timing belt replaced on my first Hyundai, a 92 Elantra, it
took the dealer three times to get it correct. After the first time it
didn't run right. When I took it back they tried to sell me an expensive
tune-up.  I told them I had just recently tuned it up and in ...

Elantra Oil Capacity (again)30 Apr 2005 17:40 GMT3
>From reading through this group I know the issue of the true oil change
capacity of the Elantra is less than stated in the manual.  (I recently
did the first oil change on my '05 GT and, using the manual as a guide,
overfilled it by dumping in 4+ qts.)  Anyway I was wondering if ...
Oil Filter for the 2.730 Apr 2005 14:47 GMT5
Did some oil filter research today...
Found the Wix 51324, which crosses over to a 91-95 Corvette (DOHC?)
filter..  Bought it, threw it on...  Fits great, works great and it
appears the metal on the filter is thicker (or harder temper) than

2006 Accent28 Apr 2005 18:02 GMT6
I am currently considering purchase of an Accent as it appears to be a good
priced car and cheap to run.  At the dealer, they said the 2006's will be
redesigned.  Can anyone direct me to a site with pics/reviews on the 2006?
I would buy a leftover 2005 at the end of the summer to ...
98 Excel - Which Brand of oil?  15w40 also?27 Apr 2005 13:19 GMT1
My 98 Excel has about 99,000 km's or 60,000 miles on the clock.
I'd like to change the oil and filter.
I've been advised to use a semi-synthetic oil, with a grade of 15w40?
Any recommended brand of oil and grade to use in this car?
2005 V6 Sonata oil filter26 Apr 2005 13:19 GMT6
Sort of a dilema. I am not sure which filter to use for this car. Which
is the better one to use and what is the part number.  Went to my local
Wally World and the book they had for FRAM only covered the 2004 model.
I have read here that some feel FRAM is inferior which if this si ...

I have plastic handle for the oil dipstick broken (Sonata 95, V6). I
don't seem to be able to locate oil dipstick replacement part, though
(I searched kragen and autozone). Can I use dipstick from another
model? What other models have similar 3.0V6 (by Mitsubishi?)

Trunk release won't25 Apr 2005 17:59 GMT3
2000 Sonata:
My remote trunk release no longer works. This has nothing to do
with the release lockout mechanism on the trunk lid. I pull the
handle by the driver's seat, and nothing happens -- I need to use

A question about Hyundai long gevity......Santa Fe specificly.
I am very pleased with my 2002 Santa Fe that now has 42K on it.  It
