I heard a squeaking belt noise coming out of my 2003 v6 sonata. Does that
mean it has to be replaced or lubricated? Don't know what belt it was. Is
there more than one belt or just a serpentine belt? Anyone know a price on
replacing this belt?

I have a new 2006 Elantra GLS with only 675 miles, which has developed
its first (seemingly) abnormal noise.  I say "seemingly," because
perhaps it's normal.  I plan on taking it in to the dealer for a

This is driving me crazy.  After hitting smaller bumps going no more than 40
mph I hear what appears to be a recurring clunking/rattling noise almost as
if the rear suspension isn't absorbing the impact (it is though).  It's a

and I have no idea where it would be located. any guesses? It is a 2006 Gls

I drive 30 miles each way to work and mpg is importatnt.  What does a Sonata
actaully get in mpg...not the sticker rating but actually.  Consumer Reports
says overall 23 (4cyl)but my 60 miles per day is normally at 70mph.  Can
anybody give me what I could expect?

I have seen referrals to a timing chain in 2006 Sonatas.Is this true?

Do codes that trigger the check engine light fall into two groups? One
group behaves in such a way that if triggered, the CEL remains on and
has to be reset manually. With the other group, the CEL will turn off
automatically once the problem is fixed. Does this make sense?

I just phoned my service dpt. to make an appt. to bring in my '05 Santa Fe
in to have the compass checked out....it seems to be about 90 deg. out most
of the time (especially when I first start the car....after an hr. or two,

service advicer called me and said that oil pan plug had damaged
thread. He blamed a shop where I did last oil change. He suggested to

I have an 03 Tiburon v6 auto. Came back to school today after a four
hour drive from home.  Car ran great the whole time. I have not had a

them at the local dealer, but the parts man seemed unsure as to how many
manuals there were and which ones I needed.
