General Question

Check engine light comes on and tranny goes into 3 rd gear.  Code 1529
can be read with cheap reader.  Is there any way to read the TCM codes
without going to the dealer ?  Any help would be appreciated.

Wipers won't activate in washer mode or intermittant mode. They work in
slow and fast mode, but won't park automatically when I turn them off.
Suggestions on how to deal with this would be appreciated.

When braking I sometimes feel the brake pedal vibrate heavily, to solve it I
take my foot off the brake and back onto it and the vibration goes away.

I have had a 92 excel for several years now, and it has been totally
trouble free untill today.

The cassette player in my 2004 Santa Fe keeps telling me to
CLEAN PLAYR
... but I've tried two different cassette cleaners so several times so far
and I still get the same message.  It keeps spitting out my MP3 cassette

I had my brakes done and my PS Flushed at Mr Tire today and when I got to
the shop they told me my front right stuck alittle bit because the clip was
going bad.  He said it was no big deal but he said it would not be covered
by warranty and would cost him 100 to do.  Not sure ...

I drove my son's '99 Elentra in stop and go traffic, ambient temperature
around 103, and I looked down to see the temperature guage about 1 - 2 mm
from the red zone.  I turned OFF the A/C and reduced all electrical draw.
The temp slowly went down... and got better as the traffic ...

any feedback regarding 06 Sonata LX brakes squeaking when the car first
moves from park, nearly consistantly?  also there is a creaking noise

I plan on purchasing a new Sonata (my first Hyundai) and am having trouble
deciding on the four or six cylinder engine.
Another forum had posts from six cylinder owners who reported dismal
mileage.  One said he averaged 19 mpg!
