1998 Elantra Fuel Filter27 Nov 2006 06:17 GMT1
Has anyone ever managed to replace their own fuel filter in a 1998
elantra?  I've gotten all of the bolts off up top but I can't figure
out how to get the bottom detached.  And the stupid thing turned at
some point when I wasn't looking I guess and now I can't re-attach the

Can anyone help this guy!26 Nov 2006 22:37 GMT3
This letter is to ask all of you for your support. My name is Bill and I am
a quadrapoligic as a result of a MVA on Dec. 31, 1990.  My life has been
living hell ever since that day, as ICBC & our RCMP screwed up on their
investigations, so was never compensated for my injuries.

P1124 Code25 Nov 2006 17:16 GMT2
Shortly after I fixed the P0303 code problem, I got a P1124 code.  If I
disconnect the battery, the code goes away for approx. one day and comes
back.  I see that there are a lot of components involved with this code.  Is
there a common fix?  Any help would be appreciated.
15K AC refrigerant check24 Nov 2006 21:24 GMT2
Hyundaitech,  if you have a minute.  I was running through the 15,000
mile check list today for my 06 Sonata and it is straightforward other
than the air conditioning refrigerant check.  I assume this isn't a
pressure test, but I wasn't sure what this was.  I've had some cars ...

The passenger side door of my 98 Elantra Wagon is locked and won't
open. The handle seems to have disconnected. I have the keys, but they
only turn the lock.  I can get into the car on the driver's side but
can't open the passenger door from the inside either. I am trying to

whirring / scratchy / screeching from the belts22 Nov 2006 00:43 GMT5
I bought a Hyundai Accent 2001 Coupe a couple of months ago. I notice
this winter that when its cold or humid there is a
whirring/scratchy/screeching noise that comes and goes away. This sound
is coming from the belt side of car. At times, it doesn't sound the
Oil Filter price21 Nov 2006 20:28 GMT11
OK, I hit 6,000 miles and did my first oil change myself (the first was a
freebie from the dealer where I purchased tha car).
My dealer wanted $19 for the cartridge filter on the '06 V6 Sonata WITHOUT
the O-rings (wanted another $2 for the 2 O-rings).  A total of $21.
Timing Belt and Radio change sucessful - thanks !21 Nov 2006 12:14 GMT2
I changed the timing belt, put synthetic gear oil in the manual
transmission, and changed out the radio this weekend. All were fairly simple
and the online shop manual was a great resource. (thanks Hyundaitech)
I would reccomend the timing belt as a DIYer job. It was pretty easy as ...

Went to start up today & only click, click. Charged up the battery for the
first time since buying new in 2001 & away it started. But now tonight I can
see that even after removing the key & locking up the dash lights remain on.
