| Wheel bearing -- rear -- replacement for 2000 Tiburon | 11 Aug 2007 22:48 GMT | 4 |
I have the worst whining sound coming from the rear of the car -- but, amazingly, nothing is loose. The car is a hatch so it resonates like nobody's business and I cannot really tell for sure which wheel is bad. So far I have had 3 of 4 bearings replaced, and I think this is

| 2006 Hyundai Sonata tries to overheat | 11 Aug 2007 15:35 GMT | 12 |
Let me first state that two trips to the service dept were not helpful. If I drive the car at speeds greater than about 50 mph and suddenly stop (off ramp, traffic jam), sometimes the engine temp gauge starts to rise like the engine (v6) is trying to overheat. I have tried turning ...

| 2004 Elantra GT 5 speed | 10 Aug 2007 17:30 GMT | 2 |
I have a 2004 Elantra GT with a 5 speed trans. The car runs great but I'm having a problem when pulling out from a dead stop. When the car is cold it will pull out fine but after it warms up it seems to me like you have to give it allot of gas to get it move without stalling. The ...

| Caught on fire | 09 Aug 2007 21:40 GMT | 10 |
I can't recall any discussion in aue of the usage of "caught on fire", vs. "caught fire", and Google doesn't find anything either. This morning, on a local radio station, the news guy used the phrase "caught on fire" three times during a story.

| 2002 Hyundai engine light | 09 Aug 2007 04:29 GMT | 2 |
My Hyundai has been acting a little weird lately. The engine comes on whenever I drive 40-45 mph consistently for a period of 5 minutes or so. Once I drop my speed down or accelerate above those speeds, the engine light goes off. The car continues to drive normally with no ...

| Hyundaitech - your opinion please - hot piston slap | 08 Aug 2007 23:46 GMT | 2 |
Hi, I have an '06 Rio5 automatic hatch which has the same motor as the new Accent (1.6 Alpha CVVT). It has always had some piston noise when cold and I realise that's quite normal but just recently I've noticed a piston noise (sounds like just 1

| Still waiting for my master cylinder at dealer | 07 Aug 2007 20:04 GMT | 7 |
This is like two weeks. What the heck is taking them so long? Maybe they just want to trade the Sonata they gave us for my wifes Elantra. Seems strange that a dealer can't get a part like this in a reasonable time frame.

| seat belt - 02 Accent 2dr Hatchback | 07 Aug 2007 04:14 GMT | 4 |
I have a 2002 2dr Accent Hatchback. The passenger side seat belt "spool" (near the floor - behind the interior panel of the back seat)is messed up. When someone puts on the seatbelt, sometimes it locks and won't release. It just keeps getting tighter and tighter. (I know it is ...

| Paint flaking 06 Sonata | 04 Aug 2007 17:43 GMT | 1 |
The channel strip above the passenger side doors on our '06 Sonata we noticed was flaking and on this weeks trip for oil change it was addressed by our dealer. Apparently Hyundai puts a black paint "tape" over this section over the doors. I was told this is seen

I own an Accent 2001. The high beams only work if I pull on the the high-beam/low-beam lever and don't let go. When I do let go it always reverts to low beams. How can I fix this?

| Piston Slap? - 2006 Elantra | 02 Aug 2007 05:24 GMT | 6 |
I have a 2006 Elantra GLS Automatic sedan with only 9500 miles on the odometer. Motor oil used is Mobil 1 5W-30 synthetic with OEM Hyundai filter - change interval is every 3K or 3 months, so oiling should be the problem with this observation.

| 2001 Sonata A/C Compressor Oil | 01 Aug 2007 23:30 GMT | 3 |
Am I missing something? According to hmaservice: "Total amount of oil in the (a/c) system: 150 cc (9.1 fl.oz)" What I don't understand is that 150 cubic centimeters is not 9.1 fluid
