When I start my '07 Elantra, a light for "EPS" flashes on the lower right side of the dash. I can't find anything about it in the Owner's Manual. Anybody know what EPS is? Thanks.

Does this car have a torque converter "lock out" at cruising speeds (like Toyotas do)? Also, does the engine have variable valve timing and a timing chain (as distinct from a belt)? I'm trying to decide between the Elantra and a Corolla.

| "New Elantra" | 19 Apr 2009 07:08 GMT | 6 |
I just bought a 2008 Elantra (11000 miles) and I have some questions. There appears to be a sensor in the middle of the dashboard. It looks like the sensor that my 2001 Prizm used to turn on the headlights when it got dark. The lights don't turn on automatically so what is the

I just had my car at the dealer's and they recommended that I have the timing belt changed. This is a fairly expensive service. Even though my car only has 43,000 miles on it, it is six years old. They recommend 60,000 miles or six years. I have to have the tire rod ends

| 2005 Elantra Question | 12 Apr 2009 15:44 GMT | 10 |
I was rear ended recently and the only damage on my Elantra is that there are "impressions" in the rear bumper from the other car's license plate screws. My question is, can these be fixed or do I need to purchase a new bumper? I am asking because it was actually a hit-and-run ...

From time to time, the subject of diesel fuel costs has surfaced here and on other auto forums. The question is often asked why diesel is more expensive than regular gasoline. I just found this info: http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/oog/info/gdu/gasdiesel.asp
