The centre pipe on my 4.0i xj40 has a surround that appears to have come
loose and rattles while driving along does anyone have any photographs as to
how this should be retained as the haynes manual has no pictures or indeed
explanation of the exhaust mountings.
windscreen-wiper motor turning direction MKII29 Oct 2003 15:17 GMT1
Can anyone tell us in what direction the windscreen-wiper motor should
turn (clockwise or counterclockwise) as seen from the outside (standing
at the frontside of the car) on a MKII?
We believe it is turning the wrong direction .... and if that is the case
Mark 2 steering column29 Oct 2003 06:54 GMT3
I was talking to someone today who told me that the rubber coupling between
the upper and lower steering columns in a Mark 2 can part and leave you with
no steering.  Is this true?
Also, I'm about to replace the front coil springs.  Are there any worthwhile

Hello Fellow Jag Enthusiasts,
After years of owning Jag Sedans in the late eighties and early
nineties, I switched to the former style of the S-Class Mercedes.  As ugly
as it was (and it wasn't THAT bad), it served the purpose of being the car
Setting the Clock: '02 X-Type27 Oct 2003 04:04 GMT10
Ok... time to set the clocks back an hour.  What's the secret to
re-setting the clock on an '02 X-Type without the touch screen
instrumentation?  My owners manual only refers to the touch screen.
Thanks,
Seat belt recoil26 Oct 2003 17:39 GMT3
I have a US version 1990 XJ-6 with an automatic, door-mounted shoulder
harness and separate lap stap.
My (i.e. driver) recoil mechanism for the lap strap doesn't work.
I cannot buy a used one from a dealer due to Ontario provincial law
Winter Storage - Inside - Outside24 Oct 2003 00:25 GMT3
I've decided that a Chicago winter and my new XKR convertible shouldn't mix,
so lacking a lot of space, but having an extra car, I've decided to rent
storage space.  (jeepers from an '03 XKR to a 98 Camry- oh well it's just
the winter, and we'll visit).
Smoke/No Smoke from '94 XJ623 Oct 2003 18:55 GMT2
Can someone tell me if this makes sense?
I have a '94 XJ6 that just turned 70k miles.  A couple of oil changes ago,
the shop put in 10w-30 instead of 20w-40.
I started getting large puffs of smoke each time the car was started.  From
