responding for ~10 seconds!

Just been to my local Tyre merchant and he had a devil of a time tracking
down 235 / 60 / 15 tyres. He was told only Pirelli make them, although my
unused spare is a Goodyear,  and most places had them on back order as long
as 8 months!!.

My radio is dead in my 1988 XJS.  I plan to replace it with an aftermarket
AM/FM/CD unit.  What is the max Watts I can input into the factory speakers
without taking foolish chances?

Hertz has the XJ8 for rental. They (or probably any rental agency has no
XJR), so I rented one.
It's going to be either a 2003 or 2004 depending on the milage when they
sell them. "But not less than a 2003."

The stereo in my 1997 XK8 just stopped working.  The controls (except the
volume knob) all seem to work, the display seems fine, the CD changer
responds, but their is no sound.  I had the volume turned up fairly loud
when it went silent.

I would like to know length of the front overhang of the Jaguar XK8 coupe.
I can't find this information in internet and the brochures I saw don't contain it.
Is there anyone who can tell me this data?

the car overal is in very good condition for its age it has been off the road for several years.
my problem is that when i got the car the fuel pumps were disconnected and they had put the terminal for ...

The right hand two digits of my '94 XJ6 odometer reading are very dim, bu
the first three digits are fine.  This is true day and night.  Is there a
bulb for the odo?
If not, what might cause the dimness?  The "bulb burned out' light does not

Hoping someone can give me a clue... for some months my 84 XJS V12 HE
had been starting with a very rough idle and frequent stalling
(requiring some pumping on the accelerator pedal to keep it running)
when the car was left sitting a couple of days; it would smooth out

over the last couple of days there has been two occasions when starting the
engine from hot on my V12 XJS that it was not firing on all cylinders. For
maybe a minute I would have to tickle the accelerator and keep it running
until they all were online.
