I need to top up the Hydraulic System on my 87 XJ40, my local auto parts shops stocks a LHM fluid which is green and claims is compatible with 'certain Jaguars and Rolls Royces'. My question is will this mineral oil be safe to use?

Salutations: I am looking at a 1984 XJ6 - 130km - seemingly in very nice shape body wise (rare where I live). I have advise that this is not a bad example or year all round and have just finished up a test drive.

Transmission will not go into D 1 or 2. Reverse is OK. BW Type 65 Car was fine when parked overnight, but today it just wont go into drive. I know nothing about auto transmission. Anybody any ideas?
