Thames Valley Jaguar specialists?18 Mar 2004 22:56 GMT4
Hello - can anyone give me pointers to TV (West Berks) specialists?
I've an X300 XJR which has a fueling issue that needs a little more insight
than just Redex'ing (which appears to the extent of the main-dealers'
craft).

Cant say I agree with you on lumping your Jag but it was entertaining to
read about it. My 82 XJ6 had similar problems (coolant leak in the head
gasket) but I bit the bullet and put in a re-built motor. Cost A$4000

Just how the f.ck are u supposed to pull these f'n things out?
I've got the manual, I've got a start but I might as well be reading the
Koran in Sanskrit via Flemish for all the sense it makes.
AT Fluid ?17 Mar 2004 00:28 GMT1
I see that my 88 calls for Dexron 2D fluid. The only thing commonly
available here is Dexron III. Im wondering if that can be used to top up
the fluid level, or does it need to be the 2D ? Any input appreciated.
Thanks,
Re: Pinging Mk215 Mar 2004 03:58 GMT1
Forgot to mention that tweaking up the volume screw stopped the pinging.
Thanks, Blake

Gave $1600 in "sweat equity" (no cash). (Im a house, etc.
remodeler/carpenter). 145K on the odo. Has already had a lot of work done on
it by the previous owner. No dents, a lil rust on the boot lip, brake pads
low, slight "whine" somewhere in rear at highway speed upon deceleration,
S-Type R Tire Sidewall Bubbles12 Mar 2004 23:55 GMT2
Have an 03 S-Type R and have noticed 2 prominent bubbles or bulges in
sidewall of the left rear tire, exactly opposite of each other.  The
car only has 3000 miles on the clock.  Called the dealer and was told
this is road damage, is quite common and not covered under any
High Performance Lincoln-Jaguar12 Mar 2004 02:33 GMT4
The new Cadillac CTS-V has received a lot of good press lately, being
compared favorably with the BMW M series sports sedans. Presuming that
the Ford Motor Company wanted to enter this market niche, would
it be technically feasible to tune the existing Lincoln LS-Jaguar Type S

Fuel starvation condition on 1991 XJ611 Mar 2004 23:18 GMT1
The car sometimes dies when I am stopped behind traffic light or
having slowed down to almost a halt in order to yield to others on
turns. Fuel filter was replaced a few months ago. What could this be
and how do I go about troubleshooting it?
Need advice on XJ8 (tires/brakes)11 Mar 2004 17:56 GMT4
New to this group.  Own a 2000 XJ8 and it needs a set of tires.  I
live in the Chicago area but have accepted the fact that the XJ8 is
going to be a pain in the winter.  With that in mind I want to buy
tires for th 355 days a year that there is not snow on the road.
