xj40 tires09 Mar 2005 10:50 GMT21
I already need new tyres for the Jag. I have been using Pirelli P4000
(205-15)which seem to have a nice ride and good grip but don't seem to last
long and are noisy. Any suggestions for the new set?

Newbie Needs Help Please09 Mar 2005 09:40 GMT13
Hi all. I'm brand new here and looking to get into the Jaguar community. I
have a nice stable of BMW's, M3, M5, 740 and a M Z3, but I've always had a
yearning for a Jag.
I don't want to start any wars here, but I'm not that fond of the "new"
rich or lean? how do you know?09 Mar 2005 09:34 GMT11
I see lots of rich and lean issues. I am having emissions issues on my
86 xj6 and being wintertime I just want to get it through until warmer
weather gets here and I can get more serious on repairs. I have to take
it in monthly until it passes.  My HC is a few hundred over. The ...

XJ40 rear suspension conversion09 Mar 2005 09:26 GMT6
I'm sure this has been covered before, but I am new to the newsgroup. Can
anybody tell me if the conversion from the self levelling shocks to a dry
setup, is possible to do at home, and what is needed?
I would appreciate any help.

XJS Rear Diff08 Mar 2005 23:59 GMT1
I've just developed a problem with an XJS that I'm rebuilding. It hasn't
been on the road for a couple of years and tonight I took it out of the
garage to turn it round so I could work on the other side.
The o/s rear wheel was scraping across the road as I turned. I got it back

procedure for doing so?

Inboard Brakes07 Mar 2005 06:36 GMT12
I've just spent the last 4 hours putting new rear brake pads and handbrake
pads on my XJS.
Can someone tell me what the hell possessed the designers of the Jaguar cars
of a certain age to fit inboard brakes. Other than designers making the
X-Type D05 Mar 2005 11:05 GMT4
I'd like to buy the X-Type 2.0 Diesel but I'm wandering if
the 2.0 is not enough. Do you know how is it or if the Jaguar
have in his plan to upgrade the engine to a 2.7 like the
S-Type ?

Phone in 1996 X300?03 Mar 2005 17:13 GMT1
Sirs!
I love my x300, but I have one problem - I don't understand the build-in
phone. It has the Jaguar brand on it but seems to be a standard Nokia
model of that time: rather big phonebone with a low-res display and
Gearbox slipping in drive02 Mar 2005 10:16 GMT2
Does anyone know why the Borg Warner 65 Gearbox on my XJC would slip in
drive. Changing to low doesn't help but changing to reverse then back to
drive seems to fix it for awhile. Parking uphill and leaving the car for
several hoours seems to exacerbate the problem. Parking ...

i have a 91 xj40 vdp with automatic seatbelts.  the passenger side belt
ALWAYS gets stuck.  i have had this fixed about a year ago, now its going
bad again.  i personally hate the automatic seat belts, they are ugly, noisy
and get stuck.
