I just got my jag back (1986 XJ6)  and have had it about a week, it

well, she has no power and almost stalls at traffic lights. Other
times she will run well.
1991 XJ40 Oil Leak28 Jul 2005 04:05 GMT1
I think I have got a leak on the timing chain cover - it's not bad but
there's a noticable large oil patch which has formed over the last  month on
the driveway.
Is this a massive job?

How do I get to the oil filter in my 1997 XJR?!!26 Jul 2005 09:42 GMT1
Hi everyone,
I've never posted to the group because, well, I've never owned a
Jag until now! I just bought a 1997 XJR and decided yesterday to
change the oil myself, that is until I tried to remove the oil filter.
Help identifying this part...26 Jul 2005 00:06 GMT6
Got this part from a boot sale.
Looks like a bonnet badge.  65mm diameter, 12mm thick. Glass disk with
chromed metal surround.  Glass disk has a silver coloured jaguar (animal) in
the centre.  Item has a 'leg' of about 15mm.  Small hole in bottom of leg
Removing the vertical metal support rod in an XJ6...24 Jul 2005 07:18 GMT1
I asked earlier and got no replies, so I'd like to ask again--I want

nothing but impossible to reach. Do I have to remove the black metal
support rod that transverses directly in front of the oil filter or is
Programming jag remote keyfob23 Jul 2005 10:54 GMT1

Small cloud of blue smoke - potential remedy23 Jul 2005 03:45 GMT3
Our 1994 XJ 40 4.0L (86K on the clock and bought one year ago) has had
the characteristic smoke cloud (valve stem oil seals relarted) but over
the last year this has reduced dramatically.  The cars history includes
7 years with only 17K miles inc one year with only 600 miles.  Since ...
Proper way to inspect fron suspension21 Jul 2005 03:46 GMT1
I would like to find a resource that would give me instructions as to
inspect the front end suspension on an XKE.
Is the current method applicable? That is, jacking up the right side,
grasping the wheel and jiggling it. Then dropping the right side,

Mark 2 mystery noise19 Jul 2005 23:45 GMT2
Here's a question about a real Jaguar.  When giving my '61 Mark 2 some real
Welly in a left hand (and only left hand) corner, or even a bit less stick
in a left hand corner and I hit a dip or bump in the road, I get this really
loud metal on metal rattattattat sound that I can ...
X-Type driver's seat causes backache18 Jul 2005 14:58 GMT2
Four days ago I got my first Jaguar – a 2004 X-Type 2.5 SE Auto. The car was
registered in January 2004, and (with only one owner) has done 41,000 miles
in just 18 months. I bought it (from HA Fox in Southampton) at a very
attractive price. It appears immaculate and all services ...
Massachusetts saftety inspection failure17 Jul 2005 13:20 GMT8
The inspector said that my '71 XKE fails for the front suspension. He
says it is too loose. It passed a year ago and only has 80 more miles on
it.
At one time, they had to gauge it to prove it was too loose, now the DMV
