I've come across a 4.0 XJS - registered in 93. VIN decodes for the engine as being 3.6 4VD or 4.0 4Y But its a 4.0 ... so what does the 4Y mean ?

I have a 1978 XJ12L that has been converted to a Chevy V8. It was running and died all of a sudden. I have a clear plastic fuel filter in the line after the mechanical fuel pump at the engine. It gets no fuel. I suspect the tank fuel pump. I cannot hear any such pump with ignition

On a 1984-87 XJ6 distributer cap, if the hold down screws are at 12 and 6 oclock, where is the number one spark plug wire at? I know the firing order is 1 5 3 6 2 4 and is number 1 plug is next to the fire wall, but where is the number one on the distributer cap?.

I am getting a fuse 1 error code, I have checked all the fuses in bay 1, 2 and 3 (about 3 or 4 times now) and none of them are out. Radio doesnt come on, windows don't work, interior lights don't work. That seems about all.

Got into my car today with the warning buzzer blaring. It would not shut off. All of my intrument panel accessorys are out. The only things that work are my radio, headlights and heater. Nothing else, no hazards, turn signal, door lock, rear defrost, cruise control, etc.

I have a 91' xjs 12 cyl that cranks and cranks but won't start. The fuel pump is working and getting juice but there's no spark at the other end. I've cleaned off corrsion at the wire that go to the starting coil which worked for a while but now it's back and less fixable it seems. ...
