Jag does UK tour on one tank29 Apr 2006 13:59 GMT1
A Jaguar XJ saloon has travelled the length of the UK on just one tank of
fuel - and then went on to top 1,000 miles in total.
The luxury XJ TDVi completed the trip from John O'Groat's to Land's End, a
distance of 840 miles, with the average fuel consumption of 53.5 mpg.
code 37 then what?29 Apr 2006 02:04 GMT6
my wife's 94 VDP posted code 37 "EGR solenoid". I changed the solenoid then
the car got worse. Wouldn't start cold then wouldn't run at any reasonable
speed, till it warmed up. I cleaned the fuel tank, changed the filter,
desoldered and resoldered the MAF. The car started right ...
threshold22 Apr 2006 12:10 GMT2
The door threshold for my wife's 94VDP needs to come off. I can't really see
how to get at it, other than pull the nameplate off the center of it. does
anyone know if that is how to get it off?
Thanks,
Can someone tell me about a 1994 Jaguar xj6 before purchase?20 Apr 2006 23:42 GMT6
I'm about to purchase this vehicle from a private owner and am feeling
a little skeptical because it only has 63000 miles. The AC doesn't blow
air at all. I'm getting a pre-purchase inspection from a British
mechanic. The current owner put 1000 miles on the car since last year
S type key remote18 Apr 2006 13:13 GMT1

miles to a dealer)??
Thanks!

Help.  Locked out of 1990 Jag Sov XJ4017 Apr 2006 17:04 GMT2
Here's one to challenge you.
I removed the battery to put it on charge this morning and when I
opened the car the drivers door handle was a little stiff, but I
thought nothing of it.  I locked the car up and put the battery on
'05 XJ8L13 Apr 2006 20:11 GMT5
Just traded my '99 VDP (plus a bunch of $$$) for a new '05 XJ8L and WOW.
While I was skeptical about the new design & look of the XJ's, there is no
doubt that the new Jag's are far superior in almost every way - handling,
features, and so fast!  I thought I would move to the XJR ...
XK Chain tensioner replacement13 Apr 2006 09:24 GMT2
I Have a 1999 XK8. I am worried about horror stories re failure of the
timing chain tensioner.
Is there a quick way to check if all is OK
How much would it cost to get the thing changed here in the UK
Vibration & Howling cont.12 Apr 2006 02:32 GMT6
I forgot to mention that I had a 1993 XJ6 and 154,000 miles on my first
posting.  Sorry, it's my first attempt at this.
The howling and vibrations start at 50 mph and continues at higher speeds.
It does tone down just a bit, but not much.  As I let it fall below 50mph
smoke from 1986 XJ-S v1206 Apr 2006 23:20 GMT1
anyone have any ideas what would cause a lot of oil smoke to come up between
the engine and firewall as soon as the engine warmed up?
Thanks
Peter
Vibration & Howling02 Apr 2006 03:37 GMT2
I am getting a strong vibration & Howling that starts at exactly 50mph. I
have replaced the wheel bearings.
I notice at around 55mph when I go over a rise in the road, the howling
subsides until the car again bottoms out.
96 SUNROOF01 Apr 2006 03:04 GMT1
Hello all, I was the proud new of owner of a 96XJ, as of yesterday, against
the hubby's wishes.  This morning I get in the car and attempt to open the
sunroof, and it gets jammed up.  I will not close it only moves about 3-4
inches.  Only one day!!! I attempted to manually override ...
