Synthetic oil (anyone try it ??)24 Nov 2007 15:55 GMT6
I've always run Castrol in my Jags.
I know nothing of the synthetic motor oils.
Years ago, I heard bad things about "switching" to synthetics.
Perhaps these are urban myths?
S-Type Auto box problem21 Nov 2007 02:16 GMT3
Have recently purchased  a 2000 S-Type, excellent condition, well looked
after, 85000km on the clock. Always Jag serviced. Drives beautifully 98%
of the time, but every now & then will not shift into gear when put into
Drive, and the indicator light is showing "D". Then, when it ...
XK8 9919 Nov 2007 15:19 GMT3
I have a 99 XK8 with 48000 miles and I think I spun the bearings on it. Has
anyone heard of any factory problems that would have caused this? The car is
well maintained with regular oil changes and garage kept. It had great oil
presure until this happened no warning signs just ...
XK8 vs. 500SL18 Nov 2007 05:03 GMT5

excellent condition with AMG wheels, well looked after with history,
stunning with the AMG body kit.  Dealer is asking $13k.  I have always liked
the SL series so I was just going to make an offer on ...
Would this turn you off a car?17 Nov 2007 12:24 GMT1
I might buy a 1998 XK8, and when I did a carfax it came back as a "Corporate
fleet lease" vehicle for the first five years, but i'm not sure what that
means.  It's had a total of four owners.  Would thus turn you off a car? It
appears to run/drive very well.
1989 XJS values15 Nov 2007 13:55 GMT8
I inherited a 1989 XJS coupe from my mother. She was the original owner and
the car is perfect with 59000 miles. My question is will this car
appreciate, being the last year before Ford bought the company?  What would
be a realistic price range.
