What year did Jeep start using a boxed frame for the CJ 7's? My '79 CJ 7 is boxed, atleast most of it is where the rust hasn't eaten it, but my friend has told me that they did not start boxing the frames until '86.

I dug around behind my glove box for about 10 minutes and can't find the two wires that are supposed to be there for constant and switched +12V. Anyone know what year this started in? Being that I have a '97...I wonder if it was an afterthought that was thrown in later in the TJ's ...

| Just curious about a M-38? | 22 Jan 2004 00:53 GMT | 2 |
I have been watching an M-38 that is for sale. I am not interested in buying it for the asking price, but wonder if this guy is asking a fair price or just trying to get lucky. Don't remember the year but it is military surplus, in fair condition overall. Body and canvas is OK, ...

Hi folks. I have a 97 TJ auto with 69K miles. I notice that whenever I leave the jeep overnight or few hours under very cold condition, the jeep will hesitate after a few minutes of driving. I could be driving up few blocks, stop at the stop sign, when press on the gas, the jeep

| How do you all feel about late-90's Cherokees? | 21 Jan 2004 07:42 GMT | 1 |
My wife just let me know that she'd like one. My TJ has been a good vehicle so far (one year, 12K miles) but it's the first Jeep I've ever owned. I bought the TJ not because I loved the brand, but because it was basically the only thing out there that was, well, a Jeep. I ...

Did anyone else see the Trucks! episode on Spike TV yesterday? It was the first installment of a jeep buildup, where the host has taken a new jeep (Wrangler X) purchased for a very young man by his dad, and agreed to build it into a "Tombraider"-like vehicle that "looks and ...

| Get the keepers off the valve stem | 21 Jan 2004 01:24 GMT | 16 |
I'm changing out my valve stem seals on my 83 CJ7 258. I have the spring compressed but I can't get the head of the valve to come up so I can get the keepers off. Seems stuck. I tried grabbing it with a pair of needle nose but no luck. Anyone have an idea on what to do here?

| Price check: 84 CJ7, $2800 | 20 Jan 2004 23:56 GMT | 6 |
I've got an opportunity to buy an '84 CJ7. Asking price is $2800. 125K miles, 25K on the rebuilt 4.2L. Has a header and a relatively new rebuilt Weber carb. Engine compartment looks pretty clean, but has a light layer of oil. Lifted around 3" (guessing), running 32x11.50 BFG ...
