Repost: XJ Differentials Questions...13 Jan 2004 23:13 GMT2
Hey Guys,
I have a 01 XJ, stock Upcountry Pkg, 5sp tranny with the basic steel
wheels.  I *think* that this means that, like the OP in this conversation,
I have the D30/35 3.56 differentials.
Replacing wheel bearings in 96 GC13 Jan 2004 18:48 GMT4
Axle is Dana 35c with 3.73 differential on a 96 Grand Cherokee.
Is a special tool required to pull the outer wheel bearings,
etc., out of the axle for replacement?  Or is there a way to
improvise and avoid purchasing the special Miller tools listed in
what the other half thinks13 Jan 2004 16:52 GMT3
I was browsing another 4x4 forum (names withheld to protect the, uh,
persons), and just had to share this tidbit found under the subject of
"Jeep drivers."
"Jeeps are just heaps of steaming poo as far as i am concerned and they

Vacuum leak13 Jan 2004 13:17 GMT16
My Jeep just developed a vacuum leak... a high pitched squeal only at idle
after it heats up.  I have look and checked hoses but have not found it.  I
saw a friend (on another vehicle) use ether, and look for increased idle to
find a leak (but never found it).  Is there another ...
Mahindra CJ 3 199013 Jan 2004 09:16 GMT5
I've being eyeing off a Mahindra CJ 340 down the road from me now ever since
the guy moved in 3 years ago and he's now selling it.  I've had our mechanic
look over it and she's in good nick.  I looked into it and it seems I can't
get any Mahindra parts for it (it needs doors) ...
Oil Leak13 Jan 2004 05:16 GMT2
I have a 93 Wrangler 4 cyl.  Oil is forcing or I should say spewing out of the top of the dipstick on a cold start up.  Does not seem as bad after the car has been driven or on repeat start ups...just maily in the morning on a cold start.  I know my model jeep does not have a PCV ...

2" Suspension Lift labor $$ question13 Jan 2004 03:35 GMT6
Just had a quote for installing a 2" suspension lift on my 98 TJ.  around
$340-something for the lift, and like $800 for the labor, if they install
it. Is that really high? I guess my options are to either not lift it, pay
them what it costs, or just not do it at all.  The reason I ...

Does anyone know an easy (or complicated) way to disable the yellow shift

Stroking the 4.013 Jan 2004 03:12 GMT5
I have a 4.2 crank that has already been turned.  I also have the pistons
(.030 over) that were going to go into my CJ8.  Question is;  will the
pistons that I have for the 4.2 work in a 4.0 block provided the block is
bored to match the pistons?
What's the difference between a 4" Lift and a 2 1/2" lift with 1 1/2" Shackles?13 Jan 2004 03:08 GMT11
What would be the difference in quality, ride, performance and just plain
jeep "correctness" between these two lift configurations?
Why would I want one over the other and would I still have 4" of lift in
each case?
'98 XJ Radiator Replacement13 Jan 2004 03:06 GMT4
I discovered over the weekend that the radiator on my wife's '98 Cherokee
needs to be replaced.  Nearly every place where the core is crimped around
the tank has split, though only one spot is leaking so far.  I wanted to ask
a couple of questions:
