putting cherokee axles into a wrangler13 Jan 2004 02:50 GMT2
I have a 1987 wrangler which needs shorter gears. For the mountains in
haiti. I don't really know what are in there now but they are american
hiway gears. Could be as hi as 3.07 I guess.
I want to put 4.11 gear set in. It has the big six, btw, with a weber carb.
Tailgate hard to move...suggestions?13 Jan 2004 00:02 GMT10
I bought a '01 TJ used, and the tailgate is very hard to open or close. I
was wondering if anyone else had this problem, and what they did to resolve
it. I tried some WD-40 on the hinges (which look fine), but that didn't seem
to do much. Has anyone got any ideas or products they ...
Jeep Limited Tire Chains12 Jan 2004 22:53 GMT2
I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 245/70/16 tires and according
to the manual, it says you can't install tire chains.
What do people do if they are required to have chains for some mountain
passes?

... in a 2000 Jeep Wrangler, 6 cyl, manual with a/c.
Where can I find instructions to swap out the radiator?
I posted a message earlier asking about where I could find a reasonably
priced one and I got good responses and for that I am grateful. Today, after
fog light power source12 Jan 2004 22:37 GMT8
I've got a 98 ZJ that I'm putting an ARB Bull Bar with a PIAA 580 fog light
kit on to replace my stock pos styrofoam bumper and fogs. What's a good
power source for these? I was thinking of tieing into one of my stock
foglight power wires for switch power and using the PIAA relay ...
? about jck stands12 Jan 2004 22:27 GMT8
Going to change the axles in rear of CJ and put in a new tranny, and
engine mounts, will be in my garage for a week or more, plan was to put it
up on 4 axle stands, I have 4, rated 3 ton, but I see it says use only on
one end,  never use to support both ends of a vehicle. Is there ...
CJ vs YJ tire carrier12 Jan 2004 13:32 GMT1
Hi, can anyone tell me if the mounting hinges for the tire carrier are the
same on a later model CJ7 (83) and a 95 YJ?
Would a jamboree rack (I believe that's what they're called.  The enhanced
rack to allow tire, gas/water cans, etc in place of the stock tire carrier)

Half a quart over12 Jan 2004 04:51 GMT5
I accidently overfilled my oil by about a half a quart.  Is this bad or
damaging to the engine?  I burn about a quart every 1000 miles so should I
just leave it there or drain the half quart out?
Thanks,

Hey. I'm back from 3 weeks in San Diego. I missed a great snow storm, but my
Dad is ok and isn't planning on checking out soon.
So, has the 'professor' gotten off of the island?

Battery for '98 2.511 Jan 2004 23:00 GMT4
Well it's been below zero at night and my OEM battery is showing it's
age. What does everybody recommend for replacement? I can't afford an
Optima but still want decent quality. What's the next best thing and
what size for my 2.5?
Blue smoke, let me back up11 Jan 2004 22:39 GMT7
Ok, I have my emotional post out.  Let me back up and evaluate.
Please check my logic.
Blue smoke = Burning oil.
Burning oil can come from:
YJ fuel pump11 Jan 2004 21:29 GMT1
My '93 YJ Wrangler died very suddenly.  There is no fuel to the fuel rail.
I haven't been able to find where the fuse or relay is for the fuel system.
Is the pump in the tank or outside?  Any help would be very much
appreciated. TIA  Matt
