| Clunk after switching from 4hi | 09 Jan 2004 21:15 GMT | 12 |
We got a bit of snow this weekend making intersections pretty nasty. After discussing the use of my 99 TJ's xfer case last winter with some on this group, I have been using 4hi as more of a gear than a permanent solution on the roads. Basically, I put it in 4hi at intersections ...

| Sway Bar disconnect in sand | 09 Jan 2004 18:52 GMT | 3 |
I have been lurking here for some time and have learned a lot. Thanks for that. I have an '02 TJ w/ 3" Teraflex lift, (S3T), lockers front and back, 4.10 gears and 33 x 12.5 Mickey Thompsone MTX tire. Almost all of my wheeling is in very soft sand in dunes up to 700' high here

| ARB Bull Bar signal wiring | 09 Jan 2004 18:21 GMT | 7 |
I am trying to wire the marker lamps on the bull bar into the factory marker lamps. I was trying to figure out the polarity of the wires and here is what I found: I found the feed and the ground for the turnsignal. The VOM showed a

Ok, I have a compression gauge but haven't used it yet. Can someone outline the steps and what the correct compression on a 258 should be? 1. Should I remove all spark plugs when testing compression?

Hiya, folks. I've been dealing with my leaking radiator for long enough. I have a long road trip coming up in the coming months and I want the Jeep in tip top shape. Anyway, I need to replace the radiator. I've seen several online at several

| Source for original-style hardtop hold-down nuts | 09 Jan 2004 14:58 GMT | 3 |
Does anyone know of a source for the rectangular 'nuts' used to hold a CJ-7 hardtop on the body? I don't think they'd be hard to make for a metal shop--basically a ~3/4 x 1-1/4" piece of 1/4" steel with a threaded hole in the

Anybody use/familiar with this sort of hard-top hoist? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6763&item=2452 006595 For the past couple of years I've been asking my brother to help with twice-yearly removal/reinstall, but that always entails some sort of

| '93 ZJ No Start Saga Over - For Now | 09 Jan 2004 03:30 GMT | 1 |
My thanks to Doug, Bill, Mike, Jerry (s) CRWLR and Old Crow, and more that I'm sure to miss. Yesterday I saw the front end of the old girl headed away down the street in the embarrassing pose behind a tow truck. I'd spent a week on her, following

| '90 Jeep Islander Idles sketchy. | 09 Jan 2004 03:24 GMT | 3 |
Usually starts up without a hitch and idles OK after a few minutes of warm up. Recently drove it on highway for a little over an hour (65-70mph) upon exiting highway the engine started to die at red lights etc. It restarted OK but this was getting OLD very quickly. Not

| Lifting a Jeep still under warranty. | 09 Jan 2004 02:07 GMT | 5 |
I purchased a 2003 WJ (Grand Cherokee) about a year ago. I want to go with the 4" Tera but I'm worried about voiding my warranty. I also have a 93 ZJ with the 3" Tera and know how what an improvment it is on and off highway (no warranty worries there). I always see people in

| Brake question for 2000 TJ | 09 Jan 2004 01:51 GMT | 4 |
I am replacing the front disc pads on my 2000 TJ. In trying to push/pry the caliper piston back into the cylinder it won't budge. I removed the cap from the brake fluid resevoir and have a helper watching to make sure there is no overflow when (if!) the caliper ever
