Tire question26 Jan 2004 09:04 GMT2
Is it ok to put 31x10.5x15 tires on 15x7 rims?  Or will the profile be too
rounded?  I know 15x8 rims would be preferable, but don't want to buy new
ones.  Mounted on 15x7 rims, what would be good psi for general driving,
29psi?
1998 GC Rearend Noise26 Jan 2004 09:00 GMT2
Just out of the blue I started getting this whining vibrating noise from the
right rear of our jeep. I pulled the rear cover and every thing looked fine
and replaced outside axle bearings on both sides and still have this noise .
It almost sounds like a bushing is bad and ...
4.0L overheating26 Jan 2004 03:32 GMT11
I'm having a weird overheating problem and I need a little help. First,
the details. I have an 87 YJ and I just finished putting a 4.0L into it
from a 96 ZJ donor. The swap went well except that the motor "appears"
to be overheating. I am running the new engine with my original ...

Can I put a 1" body lift on my 98 TJ26 Jan 2004 00:50 GMT8
@ 1/2 inch suspenstion lift with  33 x12 1/2 tires.  i'd like to add a little
more clearance. I heard that a two inch body lift won't work with A/C.
Any suggestions, prices, sites?
Thanks in advance
258 timing adjustment?25 Jan 2004 22:31 GMT4
I'm trying to get the timing on the my CJ5 '75 258 set at or near the sweet
spot.  It seems to lack power and fuel mileage is suffering after I
installed a NAPA reman. distributor.  Engine does idle and runs smooth.
I had it set at 12deg btdc.  I backed it down to 9deg.  It seems to ...
91yj   high mount stop light bracket25 Jan 2004 21:30 GMT3
Folks;
Getting real tired of the tailgaters.  Hot wired my back up lights to a
switch to get them to back off, and they just laugh.  Bought a real back up
light at Advance. Thinking of mounting it to a high mount bracket above the
Looking for 3.73 front axle assy.25 Jan 2004 21:14 GMT9
My 1998 TJ just got in a little scrap that left it needing a 3.73 front axle
assy. The other Toyota lost its entire front end and both doors.  I can't
believe they were both in the same accident.  So if anyone has a front axle
assy or can put me onto one I would be in indebted to ...
2 or 4.5 gallon compressor25 Jan 2004 20:32 GMT1
I'm looking at two compressors.  One is a 2 gallon and one is a 4.5 gallon.
The two gallon is 69.00 and the 4.5 gallon is 89.00 at Pep Boys.
I have never owned a compressor before so I want to ask the group, what will
the 4.5 gallon compressor do for me that the 2 gallon compressor ...
4.0 Cracked Head??25 Jan 2004 19:10 GMT14
I have an 02 TJ, at around 24,000 miles i noticed coolant missing. after
many visits to the dealer and local mechanics, it turns out the head was
cracked. The head was replaced at 30,000 miles this past July.
The jeep now has 40,000 miles and two weeks ago, i noticed the coolant ...
Jeep Wrangler Rubicon25 Jan 2004 17:56 GMT13
I own a '94 XJ right now and am thinking about getting a new Rubicon as a
third vehicle that I can use as a convertible, fun vehicle in the summer and
to take on the trail every once in a while. My other option is to get a
slightly used Wrangler (2000 or newer) and add a slight lift ...
Tire Size?25 Jan 2004 16:18 GMT5
I was at the dealer recently, and they had put a 4" lift on a Wrangler Sport
and installed 33x12.5's. They put aftermarket items on their jeeps if
requested by the buyer, and no warranty problems would result. In fact, I
let them put a 2" one on mine and I have 31x10.5's. I did not ...
Life after NV4500?25 Jan 2004 16:02 GMT5
So, the NV4500 is no longer in production.  Truck manufacturers who used
the NV4500 are changing over to some other tranny.  I'd like to see
six-speeds with the same bolt pattern as the NV4500 that could fit into
a short wheel base Jeep.  Does anyone know what the future holds?  How
