| Exhaust manifold - 1990 XJ 4.0L | 17 Mar 2004 22:51 GMT | 2 |
A loud exhaust noise suddenly started on my '90 XJ 4.0L today. I found an open port on the exhaust manifold just above the pipe flange and below the EGR port. Capped it off with a scrap of lead and a hose clamp to eliminate the noise.

| Cooper Discovery AT tires any good? | 17 Mar 2004 15:56 GMT | 30 |
My stepfather finally decided to junk the Jimmy that his daughter rear ended someone with a year ago, and offered me the tires (with about 3-4/5th the tread left), so my only cost would be to have them remounted.

| Help! Problem with Mtr Mount Install! | 17 Mar 2004 15:34 GMT | 6 |
Okay, I just got the drivers side mount off. To my surprise there was an extra piece of metal between the frame bracket and the mount itself. It appears to be on the other mount as well. I can't find this in any of my manual's diagrams. Could this just be something that a ...

| Compression Test Analysis 1964 CJ5 F-134 | 17 Mar 2004 15:19 GMT | 3 |
My jeep lightly smokes (white/blue) at all engine speeds. The plugs are constantly fouled with a light black powder that smells of gasoline. I did a compression test today. Each cylinder registered 65-75 on the first crank and then quickly jumped to 125. In the end, each ...

| '91' XJ: exhaust manifold leaking, why should I care? | 17 Mar 2004 14:27 GMT | 11 |
The original exhaust manifold (header right?) is leaking/cracked. I don't really have the cash to fix it (and buy that borla header + have it installed) right now. So what's the worst that could happen if I don't fix it? A bigger leak? A leaner mixture? The header on my old '70' ...

| NV3550 fluid - any updates? | 17 Mar 2004 14:06 GMT | 1 |
I'm going to change my tranny fluid soon and was hoping to go to synthetic, but I've read the posts (and manual) about Mopar only and the Pennzoil/Texaco/Havoline/Quaker Synchromesh alternatives. What's the final word on this... is there a synthetic I can rely on?

| 6" Cherokee Lift....33x12.50 tires....Can the DANA35 take it? | 17 Mar 2004 06:15 GMT | 13 |
I don't know how much truth there is to this, but I am planning on lifting my '97 Cherokee Country 6 inches, with 33x12.50 tires. My friend claims that the stock DANA axles on the jeep will suffer. He claims that the axles will "drop out" within hours of travel on large

| JGC questions | 16 Mar 2004 23:51 GMT | 4 |
I'm thinking of trading in my Cherokee on one of the last 2004 Grand Cherokees and still have some unanswered questions after reading through all the JCG literature from the dealer: 1) Before I decide on a 2004 for sure, does anyone have any photos of the 2005
