OT: Toyota 4x4 PU Tow Hooks Q re: model year06 Mar 2004 23:11 GMT6
Slightly off topic, but maybe some of you have a Toy, or a neighbor who does...
so here goes my Q.
I am forced to replace a tow hook that was stolen off my 1993 Toyota 4x4 PU.
I had 2 hooks on it. One was the 93 factory single hook.  I was also given one
2000 TJ wiper motor06 Mar 2004 21:33 GMT8
Howdy folks,
My 2000 TJ's wiper motor is going out.  I am lucky to get the wipers
going when I start the jeep, and loathe to turn them off as they require
getting out and manually giving them a bit of a push.
Idle setting on 4.0 TJ06 Mar 2004 21:33 GMT8
My idle has decided to run amok.  My Jeep mechanic guru has swapped  out the
"idle air control motor" and it seems to make no difference.  The engine will
idle properly in the 6-700rpm range for a while then it will surge to anywhere
between 1000 and 2000rpm and remain there ...
Weber carb installed!06 Mar 2004 21:05 GMT1
Well, I got home tonight and started looking at the new carb.  Next thing I
know, I'm half way into the install -- I intended to do this tomorrow.
Anyway, the install went smoothly enough, knock on wood.  So I attempted to
tune the carb, and it seems to be running really nice.  So ...

Torque Converter Clutch Problem.06 Mar 2004 19:11 GMT2
Vehicle: 98 TJ Sport w/auto trans.
The torque converter is not locking up when it's supposed to (over 40 MPH).
I have an error code (0740) which confirms it.
Is there a way to check the TCC solenoid without pulling the tranny pan?
Beefed up Flex plate06 Mar 2004 06:10 GMT5
Need source of custom flex plate for 86 XJ Cherokee with 2.8L
(externally balanced).  Need a heavier duty flex plate than OEM as I've
torqued off 4 of them over the years.
Any sources (including NHRA spec'd.) would be appreciated
Hi Lift06 Mar 2004 05:55 GMT4
This Jeep chick I know says she wants to mount her Hi Lift to the top of her
hood.  I don't think I have ever seen this done, and a quick Google search
didn't turn up anything.  I have seen them mounted underhood, I don't feel
too good about that (jack is hotter than hell when you ...
Weber Carb, 258 revisited06 Mar 2004 03:42 GMT3
Thanks for the advice so far in installing my new Weber carb!  It
arrived today.  I'm at work right now, but I opened the box and looked
at the instructions, which say that the two gaskets should be coated
with proper sealant, or grease.  What is "proper" sealant for this --
Trail Ride and Over Night Camping April 10-11 KY06 Mar 2004 01:36 GMT1
I will be hosting a trail ride and campout for people who are in my area. It
will be easter weekend. We will offer onsite tent camping. We have 600 acres
and don't mind company. This is a friendly get together. All rigs must come
on their own power no trailer rigs as there is no ...
81 CJ wiper help06 Mar 2004 00:49 GMT3
Now that CJ is out of garage with new tranny, and it rained for the first
time yesterday, I have a wiper problem, they work when they feel like it,
not when I want them to. Anywhere special I should look, or just start at
the switch and work my way forward?
CJ drain question05 Mar 2004 22:37 GMT13
There is some sort of drain hose, about 1/2 inch in diameter that goes
through the hump, inside the jeep, just behind the shifters.  It is not
hooked up to anything, but looks as if it should be.  btw, this Jeep has
ac.  Any idea what the hose is?

Knocking Sound 1994 Cherokee-But Great Power...???05 Mar 2004 19:39 GMT1
My inline 6 cylinder on my recent purchase of a 1994 Cherokee has
fantastic power-much better than I expected-but I get a distinct
knocking sound during most operation, especially when cold.  The
engine oil is fine.
