TFI coil voltage?30 Mar 2004 04:14 GMT10
I've been looking around and I can not find the answer to this question. I
just did a tfi conversion on my 86 CJ, 258. I replaced the coil, cap,
rotor, and wires.  The stock coil has a resistor that drops the voltage to
the coil to around 7 volts. I have heard that you can run ...

it without taking it out.  I have a 95 wrangler with a 4 cyl.   Ive read
that its going to be either a AX5 or AX15.  I was wondering what was the

is this a transmission problem?30 Mar 2004 01:17 GMT2
So I'm driving around my '96 XJ 4.0 AT when I come to a stop.  At go time, I
was still in 3rd gear and got off to a real drag-a.s start.  This has
happened a few times now.  If I manually move the shifter to the 1/2
position, the trans shifts back into first just fine.  So I'm ...

Sold the YJ to a friend of my sons, this started a while ago with it dying
on the road. Replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil then found out it
had an ECU under there, replaced that and all was fine for a while. Then
Steering box woes...29 Mar 2004 15:16 GMT3
So, who else with a TJ has had their steering box chew itself up?
Anyway, I'm looking for a replacement; a local Jeep shop recommended a
PSC gearbox that is a bit more pricey but also more powerful than the
stock replacement, plus has the ability to add steering rams in the
1968 jeep29 Mar 2004 14:49 GMT1
I just bought a 1968 jeep. I'm not sure of the model. The title says model
8705. The serial number is 8705F17210075. Need correct model to get correct
parts!
Cherokee transmission mount29 Mar 2004 13:31 GMT1
Anyone ever replaced the transmission mount between the tailshaft and the
rear crossmember? Mine seems to be rather "Loose", if I go under the truck
and grab the tailshaft I can move it around more than I think I should be
able to. I'm trying to get rid of a vibration that seems to ...
TJ half doors from dealer AFTER buying w/ full steel29 Mar 2004 11:24 GMT10
I want to buy the OEM half doors but the wonderful dealers don't seem to offer
them as a "spare parts" item...  Why is this??  I contacted DC but they never
returned my Q.  I know the new TJs are being sold w/ half doors and I know I
can buy similar doors, aftermarket, from ...
Slow Cranking Starter29 Mar 2004 07:33 GMT3
95 Jeep Cherokee inline 6--Jeep runs fine its just that the starter as
started to turn over slow but it still starts the jeep. New battery, still
cranks slow. Took the coil wire off and measured the volts at the battery
and it draws a little more than 11 volts while cranking. Took ...
Ball joints29 Mar 2004 06:04 GMT3
What are the symptoms of bad ball joints. This is on a 79 CJ-7. Also, when
looking at the Jeep from the front, the top of the right front tire leans to
the outside. I know this isn't adjustable. What might be causing this?
Thanks!
'00 XJ - Disc brake "sqwaking" sound -  Pads or disc?29 Mar 2004 05:21 GMT19
'00 XJ is the subject, front disc problem.   Due to excessive dusting
and a nice wobble on hard braking, I replaced the front disc rotors and
slapped on some new pads.  The rotors are wagner something and the pads
are the house ceramic brand from partsamerica (all pro auto parts ...
'97 wrangler steering play...29 Mar 2004 04:56 GMT2
I have a little play in my '97 wrangler's steering (manual.)  It looks to be
in the steering box.  I am tempted to try to remove some play in the worm
gear by adjusting the screw on the box.  Any suggestions on this?  I
remember many years ago, when the front end alignment guy would ...
seat belt question29 Mar 2004 02:37 GMT3
Pardon the ignorance...
I have a 2000 Sahara.  I'd like to modify my dog's harness to be able
to attach directly to the seatbelt when I remove/flip up the back
seat.  The seatbelt is right in the middle of the floor in the back
sheet metal thingie under intake manifold29 Mar 2004 00:47 GMT8
Hi.  I'm replacing the stock cast iron 2bbl intake manifold on my 304
with an Edelbrock aluminum 4bbl intake.  When I removed the stock
intake, there was a thin sheet of metal underneath it that sort of
doubled as an intake gasket.  I mean it was roughly the same size as
