I was wondering if anyone could tell me the probable cause of the typical 4.0 noise from the engine. It sounds like a bearing going but it has had it since 2000. Had at dealer and they just tightened belt. Any guesses as to probable fix? Or where to look? Would a new belt help. it ...

Hi. I have a CJ5 with a 304 in it. I had an engine fire last weekend and my carb, distributor, coil, and lots of wiring got burned up badly. This morning I removed all of the destroyed parts and have ordered some new stuff. Going to make the swith to 4bbl from 2bbl

I have an 1987 cherokee 4 l there is no engine light ( that i can find) and switching the key on and of has no effect, but there is a conector under the hood for a scanner link.. is there any way to read the codes with out a scanner

Does the Liberty's 3.7 V6 have more hoarsepower than The TJ's 4.0(190HP) inline? Which would fare better in a straight 1/4 mile with..auto shift or standard? I'd hate to think that Buffy could out do me in the Mall lot.

I have an 84 CJ7 and was wondering which transmission that it originally came with. I believe it all to be stock. It's got the 258 I6 and the transmission is an automatic. Renegade package if that helps.

I've got some interesting news. I wanted to change the fluid in my transfercase on my 03 Overland. I went to the dealer to get the Chrysler recommended and the dealer told me that Chrysler told them to use Mobilfluid 424 tractor lube. Anyone else here of this?
