A while ago I bought an '87 YJ with the intention of either running it in
the winter and saving my '94 YJ from the salt, or building it into an
offroad beast. I bought it in the summer of '01, and it... ran.
It needs a new motor. The one in there now looks like spaghetti, has metal

I'm interesting in a 1993 YJ ... 1 year old clutch, 4 cyl. No rust.
What things should I be aware of on this model. What would a decent
price be to offer? It blue books for 4 grand.

when I asked about taking the top off.. many of you mentioned removing the
carpet thus eliminating the ruining of the carpet with mildew etc.
I would love to pull out my Rubi carpet..  I see where it is attached at the
top left of the driver's foot area but how would I get it out ...

Here's a cool one. Think of what a chick magnet (ok, 40 yr old chicks) it

Talked to the owner of a local shop today (Sooner Auto on AirDepot,
Midwest City, OK).  Good shop, I use them to fix my mom's 86 Merc.
Especially when I'm up to my elbows in Jeep or just don't have the
time/equipment.

Anyone know the biggest tire that you can fit (with little to no off road
rub) on a 96 Grand Limited with a 3.5" lift Kit.

I folded down the windshield on my YJ and found that it is rusing pretty
bad under neath.  I want to remove the dash to fix this rust, and
install new speakers at the same time.
What do I have to do in order to remove it?  Is all the wiring going to

My A/C clutch is making noise even when nothing is on..(A/C , Defrost)
I know that it is bad and needs replaced because the air doesn;t
work:)  Do they normally just make noise when nothing is on when they
are bad?

I have a '76 CJ-7 with a 258 I-6 and T-176/Dana 300 drivetrain.
A Mopar Magnum 360 V8 should be a direct replacement for the 258, right?
The motor mounts, transmission mounts, clutch/bellhousing, etc shouldn't
need any modifications, right?  So, I just pull the 258, install the 360 ...

since i already have a khaki base, im tossing around the idea of doing this

My daughter's 1993 YJ with 155,000 miles just crunched it's second AX-5 transmission. Is there a readily available, inexpensive, bolt-in replacement 5-speed that is not an AX-5 available?
     Or would we be better off to replace with an automatic? If so, what is the latest auto ...

I have checked two books now and each book says that the big nut on the hub
assembly for a 1988 Jeep Wrangler gets torqued to 175 foot pounds. Is this
