4x4 won't engage13 May 2004 17:40 GMT2
Hey.  The 4x4 won't engage on my 88YJ.  The transfer case seems to be
engaging, and in 4-low the back wheels are in lo-range.  Someone suggested
it could be due to vacuum lines and that would make sense since I had most
of them off last week when i was changing the valve cover ...
OT:Funny13 May 2004 16:39 GMT19
I don't know how they wrote this with a straight face. This was a real
memo sent out by a computer company (IBM) to its
employees in all seriousness. It went to all field engineers about a
computer peripheral problem. The author of this memo
Door off in Ontario13 May 2004 11:52 GMT9
I'm new to Jeeps. Just got a Rubicon in the fall. Now that the nice weather
is here
I can't wait to get the doors off, but what about the side mirrors. I know
that old cars built
Will a TJ rear bumper fit a YJ?13 May 2004 11:19 GMT1
I've got a rear bumper on eBay - from my 01 TJ that I'm building.  Got a
message from a guy that asked if it would fit a YJ with a little
modification.  I told him I didn't know but anything's possible.
Have any of you done this or know if it can be done within reason?
headlights rewired13 May 2004 06:28 GMT3
Woohoo! Not only did eliminating the connector fix the headlights, but
the marker lights that haven't worked in over 2 years are back now too.
On the other hand, I've got 2 wires that came from the fuseblock side
and do not continue past the connector???? Why?? All seems to be
Too Nice out!  Went Bush Running with top and doors off. Photo link too.13 May 2004 04:20 GMT13
Wow, what a day, 25C and sunny here in Ontario Canada.
Took the top and doors off and went bush running with a couple guys from
a local club today out where we usually have our RAMJ+W runs.  Had a
nice day!
Rubicon Price Negotiation13 May 2004 02:46 GMT36
I ordered my Rubicon back in February; it has arrived. I'm very anxious.
I go in tomorrow to settle on price. The msrp on mine is 28,600. I am in a
relatively low volume area (deep south Texas), and I anticipate an
exhausting haggle session or two.

304 breathing trouble and questions12 May 2004 23:45 GMT1
Hi all.  After recently replacing my intake manifold on my '76 304
Jeep along with the carb and ignition I notice some fumes coming out
of the oil filler neck that I didn't see before.  I mean it's pretty
lively, the amount of fumes I see coming out as if though there's too

AMC 150 too rich12 May 2004 22:10 GMT6
I have a question concerning an '84 CJ with the AMC 150 4 cyl engine and one
of those terrible Carter carburetors with a Nutter bypass performed.  Keep
in mind with this question that the catalytic converter needs to be replaced
and another one is on order. Here's the present ...
'79 CJ7 Proportioning Valve????12 May 2004 21:42 GMT4
It looks like I may need a proportioning valve, but I can not find one
anywhere.  None of the aftermarket places, NAPA, 4wd.com, Quadratec.com
have them listed.  I then called the dealer and they can not look up
anything that old.  I know the same valve was used for a while, ...
Grand Cherokee Thermometer calibration12 May 2004 20:01 GMT4
Yesterday when my wife got in her 96 Grand Cherokee the thermometer was
reading wrong.  It was reading about 40 degrees cold.  Is there a way to
reset it, with out taking to the dealer?
Flaping seat belts?12 May 2004 19:13 GMT12
What do you guys do to hold down those annoying rear seat belts flapping in
the wind when the top is down? I've got some ideas (cutting them out!!) but
there must be a simpler & logical way.
What paint colors for 81 CJ5?12 May 2004 19:04 GMT2
Does anyone know how I can find out what colors the 1981 CJ5 were.  I know
that mine origanally was a "denim blue" you know, ugly light blue.  But I am
planning to re-paint and would like to try and go with a different color.
But an original color.   I am thinking of a "burnt ...
