| headlight wiring | 12 May 2004 18:39 GMT | 9 |
Just got finished replacing the switch in my 92 XJ. That wasn't the problem. Fished around and found a wiring connector behind left headlight that was corroded as hell. Anybody ever tried bypassing one of these with splices? Any reasons not to? If I have to replace I will,

| quick question re: torque | 12 May 2004 17:41 GMT | 2 |
I am installing new spring hangers on my cj7. What is the proper torque for the spring hanger bolts. I found a thread where someone suggeted 105 ft pounds, which seems way too much. I found a chevy truck lift kit installation document that suggests 55-65 ft pounds for a spring ...

| Soft Top Questions | 12 May 2004 16:31 GMT | 4 |
I'm the proud new owner of a '99 TJ. Unfortunately I haven't done much actual off-road/'real' Jeeping yet, but I do have some questions about just taking care of my Jeep in general. First, is it safe to take a Jeep through a car wash with the soft top

| Quadratrac TCase Neutral ? | 12 May 2004 16:17 GMT | 4 |
I can't seem to put my wifes '98 ZJ Quadratrac transfer case into neutral. There seems to be no position of the transfer case lever anywhere between 4WD Full -time and 4WD part-time that is actually a neutral. Both non-neutral modes seem to work fine except there's a horrible ...

Stumbled across this diff cover today... http://tinyurl.com/29net Neat idea, not too practical for off-road though. The company is also developing matching valve covers.

| CJ dash bulb holder thingy | 12 May 2004 01:26 GMT | 4 |
As I restore my 1982 Scrambler, I've found that one of the bulb holders (for the #53 bulbs) that fits into the back of the big speedometer instrument cluster is broken. I haven't had any luck so far in wrecking yards finding a replacement. Anyone know where I can get one of these ...

| annoying inconsequential matter | 11 May 2004 23:14 GMT | 7 |
Anyone wanna guess why, if I park uphill in the driveway, my jeep needs 5 or 6 cranks to start, but if parked downhill, the normal 1st crank starts it. Like I said, it is nothing more than an annoyance. It does

Ok, my half plastic half metal radiator has started leaking, at the top, all around, where the AL and plastic meet. 1998 TJ with the four-oh H.O. 1. Any tricks to fixing it?
