| Drivebelt tension (followup) | 23 May 2004 02:42 GMT | 4 |
I've been hearing a loud squeal coming from the engine compartment of my '95 GCL (usu. on engine startup), so I took some advice on here and got a Krikit belt tension gauge from NAPA Auto Parts. I tried it on the drivebelt today...60 lbs! Can you say "loose belt"?

I'm trying to get the valves back in my 226 jeep engine (1956) I've got the proper spring compressor, but can't seem to get the valve keepers up in there and make them stay. It seems like the valve spring gets a little off center when you compress it. Anyone know a trick to make ...

| Damn Jeep failed the smog test! That came a total suprise.... | 23 May 2004 00:26 GMT | 7 |
My '98 Jeep Cherokee with 83,000 failed its smog test today and I truly did not see that coming. It has been running great, gas mileage is about what it has always been, maybe a little less as it has seen more stop and go city driving but nothing that would make me really

I just had a strange sight. Someone was sorting out the front of my garage for me and my old 86 4.2 is sitting on a dolly waiting for me to do something with it and they had to move it.

Alright, I love my Jeep. Sweet 2000 Sport, silver and lovely. The problem is she is out of warranty and starting to give me problems. I figure it's time to trade her in (don't tell her) for a new one, but I am upside down in the Jeep by a few grand and that wouldn't afford me the ...

| Jeep vs Explorer | 22 May 2004 17:18 GMT | 3 |
It's time for me to start looking at a new (used) car to replace my old '91 Explorer EB 4x4, which I bought nearly 4 years ago. I also like the Jeep Cherokee a friend owns, so I'm looking at both SUVs as a possible replacement.
