Dumb newbie question: Truck tonnage15 Jun 2004 19:26 GMT1
Ok, I know this is a really dumb question, but I honestly don't know
the answer.
I often hear guys talking about a half-ton truck,  or a 1 ton truck,
or even a 2.5 ton truck.  But obviously,  when they talk about a 1-ton
Diff skid plates/protection. What's your pick?15 Jun 2004 19:12 GMT8
I am looking for some diff protection. I'm tired of bashing my poor
unprotected Dana30 front and Dana44 rear diff into rocks. Yes, I'm
careful, but sometimes it happens ;-)
Anyway, I wanted to get you guys' (and girls) opinions on the
Fusible link rating15 Jun 2004 17:37 GMT3
Does anyone know the rating of the fusible link in the
alternator-to-positive terminal battery wire? Would it be unwise to remove
this link and replace with straight 4-gauge wire? FSM indicates a fusible
link but no rating. It's insulated in green and looks like the diameter of a

dropping the main skid plate on a TJ15 Jun 2004 06:25 GMT6
I am gonna try the poor-man's fix to a rattling catalytic converter tomorrow
and give it a few pokes with a dull punch to see if I can get it to "pin" back
together and stop rattling.  Other than the rattle, the cat is working fine.
To do this i need to drop the skid plate.  Any ...

WJ - first trail ride15 Jun 2004 05:09 GMT3
I took my new WJ out 4-wheeling on Sunday for the first time.  My 6 year old
nephew Gavin and his father came along.  I choose the Sykes Ridge trail
north of Lovell, WY for the maiden voyage.  This trail climbs up the
southern flank of East Pryor Mountain in Montana.  The entire ...
1997 Cherokee Sport Shimmy15 Jun 2004 04:25 GMT1
Recently I replaced the front rotors and pads.  Since then, I have a shimmy
at about 55 mph.  It's not in the steering wheel, the whole truck shakes.
It clears up around 65 mph.  I know I didn't have this before the brake job.
I checked the front brakes and had the tires balanced ...
