Ignition  Noise in AM  Radio in  1980 CJ-5 Jeep ??05 Jun 2004 04:10 GMT9
I have awful ignition noise in the Jeep described above.  It is so bad that
I cannot hear any station on AM when the engine is running.   FM radio is
fine.
What are the most likely culprits please ?
Driveline vibration solved - mostly05 Jun 2004 01:01 GMT7
Well, looks like I solved 95% of my driveline vibration and just cost me
11.00 (plus a bunch of cussing.  It's somewhat of a PITA lining up these
nibs to the perches.  I found a sledge hammer works quite well to position
the spring sideways.  The use of a mule kick to position it ...
bug guard question05 Jun 2004 00:07 GMT3
i had one of those self adhesive feet used for a bug guard fall off
somewhere and tried getting a replacement for it. i went to a dealership and
was told that it only comes in a hardware package included with the bug
guard itself.
Lift kit and front drive line angle04 Jun 2004 23:38 GMT4
I am installing a RE 4.5" Lift kit in my YJ.  I am not putting the
t-case lower bits and will be installing a SYE/CV shaft on the rear.
If I leave the t-case at it's normal height, do I still need to add
shims to the front?
Places I've been in my Jeep04 Jun 2004 19:27 GMT2
I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee which I've abused a bit (Currently
it has no front bumper, since I had to rip it off to get a tow after
being stuck in the mud in a "dry" lake for eight hours...)  But my
Jeep has taken me to many of my favorite off-road locations in the
crack in my valve cover.04 Jun 2004 15:52 GMT2
My aluminum valve cover, which I like because it's quieter than the plastic
option, has developed a hairline crack where the oil cap sits. It's leaking
a little bit. It this a big concern? The crack is small but it's definitely
there, should this be replaced asap? This is probably a ...
2000 Jeep Cherokee and Code P043204 Jun 2004 11:34 GMT1
I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with about 76,000 miles. I change the oil
every 2-3000 miles, pcv, plugs, air, fuel. I am fanatical with the
service of the vehicle. I put lots of highway miles on it.
Just recently my check engine light came on. I stopped at 'the zone'
Hitch prob on Liberty04 Jun 2004 07:55 GMT18
After installing a receiver hitch on my liberty, I find that the ball is
directly under the spare tire, which makes it difficult to hitch/unhitch,
especially at an angle. I end up having to partialy open the back door and
try to keep the door from hitting the trailer while I ...
Bigger Tires - question04 Jun 2004 05:29 GMT8
Gang,
I'm looking to upgrade & put 31-10.5's on my 98 TJ.   What is the tire of
choice here?  My mechanic told me he could get me a good deal on Dunlop A/T
Rovers ($95/tire) but I know very little about them.  I off road from time to
plugs, etc, 1999 JGC04 Jun 2004 04:38 GMT10
Hi All.  A friend's jeep isn't starting so well, so I suggested she
change the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.  However it seems that there
is a coil on each plug.  Does anyone know what the equivalent operation
on the 4.7 is?  The Haynes manual is less than complete for the WJ.
Can wheels be painted?04 Jun 2004 03:09 GMT3
I have wheels with the inner area (beadlocks?) black and the rim part
chrome.  I would like to have these all black if possible.  Is it possible
to paint these myself without the paint flaking off in a month?  If so, what
process would I go through to prep and paint?

2001 TJ Air Cleaner03 Jun 2004 15:42 GMT6
I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4.0 L.  I purchased a new air
cleaner/filter (Mopar part # 04797777AC).  The stock filter & the Mopar
replacement are both the same size, but it sits in the air cleaner box on
top of a foam pad (same dimensions L x W & is ~ 3/4" thick).  The foam ...
Fixed my noise!03 Jun 2004 14:58 GMT7
OK I haven't posted anything on here about this problem, but it was making
me crazy the week or so.  And since I'm driving it 500 miles to Vegas
tomorrow, I figured I better figure it out before it drove me batty. 00 XJ

CJ 7 hard top hinge needed03 Jun 2004 14:30 GMT2
Any of you guys who have upgraded to better hardware on your rear lift
gate want to sell me CHEAP a hinge?  One of mine bent this weekend and I
really don't have the cash to buy new ones, especially when I know there
are plenty of old hinges laying around.....
