'76 CJ5 For Sale - Thanks for the help!21 Jul 2004 00:33 GMT3
I've decided I'm not a "Jeep guy."  After about a year of owning my
'76 CJ5 I've decided to sell it.  It's got a 304 with 3-speed manual
transmission in it.  Ramsey 8000 lb winch.  Edelbrock performer
intake, Holley 670 Avenger carb.  3" body lift.  DUI ignition sy$tem.
Universal U bolt ?20 Jul 2004 22:17 GMT5
Are the U bolt upgrade from the strap type made of anything special, or
can I just go get the right size stainless U bolts at the local lumber yard?
Also does a LockRight locker require the limited slip additive?
Help with Tools to cut frame20 Jul 2004 17:41 GMT9
What tool can I use to cut a 1962 Willys CJ5 frame?  I have a small Porter
Cable 2HP 6 Gallon compressor.  Also, I have a nice sawzall, but don't
think that will work...haven't tried it though.  How about a die grinder
attached to my compressor?  I don't need a nice cut, just a cut. ...

Source for cargo netting?20 Jul 2004 09:30 GMT10
I want to fabricate a custom cargo net and wonder if there is a
supplier of raw netting material - no hems or mounts or borders. I
don't want the crappy stamped fabric "tailgate net" sold in discount
auto parts stores - I prefer sewed nylon webbing or similar.
Off-roading in south-central Wisconsin20 Jul 2004 03:24 GMT3
This is, I guess, part question (as someone suggested I do a few weeks
back when I first posted) and part "weeeeee!" post. Finally found some
public land around here where I could take my new (to me) 98 TJ out
and get it dirty. I remember my old man taking me out off-roading with

I was finding my TJ hard on gas. The local dealer said to purge the

Disappointed19 Jul 2004 23:54 GMT15
I hope this generates a lot of feedback.
I just bought (last Saturday) a 2001 Jeep XJ (auto trans). I traded a 2000
GMC Z71 for this vehicle.
I know that it is unfair to compare the two vehicles but I don't have
oil capacity question19 Jul 2004 23:18 GMT13
The Jeep 258 motor holds 5 quarts or, 6 with filter change.  However, there
is no way the tiny Jeep filter holds a full quart -- maybe 1/2, if that.
When I change the oil and filter and add 6 quarts, the oil level is above
the fill mark.  So I am thinking of going with 5 1/2 quarts ...

Snow plow /Wrangler19 Jul 2004 22:09 GMT1
I am considering selling my pickup that I primarily use for plowing
and lumber yard runs.  Can anyone recommend a plow for my 2003

I would like to be able to carry some firewood when the situation
Automatic Choke Adjustment19 Jul 2004 22:08 GMT12

Somethimes, even if the car is hot, it start with a very high RPM, and it

Could this have something to do with the choke ? and what should I check ?
Steering column locing question.19 Jul 2004 22:00 GMT12
I flat tow my CJ behind my RV. Right now I have to pull the driveshaft and
disconnect the battery so I can turn on the ignition key to unlock the
steering column. I'm going to modify the D300 so I can flat tow with out
removing the driveshaft, but I don't know how to mod the ...
