Lately I've been having trouble starting (battery low, excessive cranking)
and when the engine does start, the idle is low and the engine stalls unless
goosed.

'98 TJ Bucking Bronco11 Sep 2004 10:38 GMT33
About a week ago, my '98 TJ (2.5L, 5-speed, 71K miles) began missing
at highway speed, bucking like a bronco.  I chalked it up to a bad
tank of gas, so I dumped in a bottle of HEET and a bottle of fuel
injector cleaner.  The problem continued, so I did the same thing with

that there are something like 117 new messages. I look away for a ...
98 TJ power loss & rough idle soon after startup10 Sep 2004 19:13 GMT4
I'm having a problem with my '98 Wrangler, I6, manual transmission:
Within 2 or 3 minutes of starting up, it develops a significant power
loss at speed, and at rest it idles very roughly at approx. 200 or 300
RPM.  If I attempt to rev it up while this is happening, it hesitates
TOWING MY 01 TJ10 Sep 2004 13:35 GMT10
Hi fellow Jeepers,
I need to tow my TJ behind my Class C Motorhome and had good luck and stable
handling when it was stock and on all four wheels.  Now it's (the TJ)
built - 35" tires-4.5" lift and when I flat tow the Jeep wags the Motor Home
Liberty 3.7 engine (rough iddle)10 Sep 2004 13:20 GMT6
Recently I posted a message about the 3.7 rough iddle. Indeed, it
hasnt gotten any better and Im starting to feel I made a bad decision
with the Liberty. Dealer says it is normal, because it is such a
powerful engine...BS
Carter BBD - End of story for now10 Sep 2004 08:30 GMT19
Following several suggestions, I got the Jeep running better than it has in
years. Computer not working, but I cleaned the idle tubes, aedjusted the
mixture, and enjoyed my ride again. After 110 miles, it started running
rotten again.

receiver, a pair of chrome Jeep factory wheel centers, a dash pad (nutmeg I

I have an 1988 Cherokee 4.0, 5 speed, 240k miles.  In April changed the
clutch master (it was leaking bad).  A few weeks ago I had a new (not reman)

original clutch).  It was working great for about a ...

Cherokee mileage problem09 Sep 2004 16:59 GMT5
I have a 2000 Cherokee (2wd 6cyl) I just bought and so far mileage has
averaged 13.5  This is well below the avg of 18-20 I'm supposed to
get.  I'm not a lead-foot.  It's not a matter of break-in because it
has 39,000 on it.
