| Hesitation during acceleration | 07 Sep 2004 17:42 GMT | 3 |
I have a 89 Wrangler Laredo that I recently purchased. I've been going through all of the normal tuneup steps (new plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, timing, vacuum tube, etc.) in order to get the Jeep ready to be a daily driver. Had the timing adjusted yesterday

| Waggoneer Towing Capacity | 07 Sep 2004 17:10 GMT | 3 |
Grand Waggoneer has a 5000lb towing capacity, which was less than I would have thought. Anybody know what the limiting factor is ? I'm guessing its engine power as the chassis is very substantial, the axles are D44s and the vehicle is quite wide and long (even although its

| OT: Built in code reader? | 07 Sep 2004 16:09 GMT | 5 |
There's a discussion in alt.trucks.ford about code readers, and it got me thinking...why couldn't there be a small display to show a stored code, and it's definition, in every (new) vehicle? Doesn't seem like it would be all that expensive to engineer one into a vehicle, especially ...

| XJ Workshop manual | 07 Sep 2004 11:01 GMT | 2 |
Does anyone have a copy or a link to a PDF or similar of the factory workshop manual for XJ Cherokees? I'm especially after one that covers 94-96. Thanks. Alternatively, does anyone have a manual in good condition they'd like to

| locking gas cap for '91' XJ | 07 Sep 2004 03:11 GMT | 10 |
Does anyone know of a good locking gas cap for a '91' XJ? I'm not worried so much about people stealing my gas as spiking my gas tank. -Bill (remove "botizer" to reply via email)

| 96 GC suddenly lost AC cooling | 07 Sep 2004 00:17 GMT | 5 |
Lost cooling in my 6cyl '96 GC without warning this weekend. Fan works, condenser turns on and off, low pressure line is very cold and condensation forms on the line. Air coming thru vents might have a higher humidity level when the AC is turned on than when it is off.

| 95 GC 6-cyl belt | 06 Sep 2004 14:32 GMT | 2 |
I replaced the belt on my 95 GC (inline 6 with A/C) last summer simply for concern over mileage. This is the one with manual tension; no automatic tensioner. I don't have a tension gauge. I set it to what seemed like decent tension. No problems then.

| cost of engine swap | 06 Sep 2004 05:35 GMT | 2 |
has anyone performed a 305 or 350 engine swap? what was the cost incurred? I have a 258 with sr-4 tyranny and d300 transfer. I would like to get the aforementioned engine with either a turbo350 or 700r4 transmission and use an adapter to the

| Air compressor reccomendations? | 06 Sep 2004 03:10 GMT | 5 |
Trying to figure out what compressor to get for the garage. My trusty R-22 bottle and minipump just isn't going to cut it. :) Seems the only way to get enough umph for a grinder is to go with at least 7.5 CFM @ 90 PSI. At that rate the compressor gets too

| winch questions | 05 Sep 2004 19:42 GMT | 20 |
Forgot to ask this in another post: I've washed my winch cable also after using it in mud... working in the metal finishing biz, I feel like I want to oil the cable, but haven't done anything like that yet. It's a brand new winch and cable, only been on there for muddin twice

| Do I need a new tire carrier for 31's on TJ?!? | 05 Sep 2004 07:32 GMT | 3 |
I just got 31x10.50x15" MT/R's mounted on my '97 TJ. The spare will now not mount to the tire carrier without flipping it over so that the inside of the spare rim is facing out, which means that the tire is hanging several inches out away from the Jeep. Also, it looks like even ...
