99 Cherokee Stalling27 Sep 2004 22:39 GMT4
I've had great luck with this jeep until this month. It is only used on the weekends, maybe 50-100 miles a week. First, it started
to sputter a bit when it was warmed up and put in reverse only, but always came out of it and ran well. Then last week, after
sitting in the garage all ...
TJ Steering Stabilizer Replacement27 Sep 2004 22:09 GMT12
I'm in the process of replacing the OEM steering damper on my '98 TJ
with a Skyjacker OEM steering stabilizer.  It's been a challenge, but
I got the bolt/nut off the end of the OEM stabilizer nearest the
wheel.  It took a propane torch to heat up the nut on the tie rod end

My arms hurt.27 Sep 2004 15:49 GMT1
Well that was fun.  Was working on the heap.. er.. jeep and
my Maglight stopped working.  So, I figure it's time to change
the batteries and proceed to take them out.  Nope, ain't gonna
happen, those batteries are stuck tight.  Some PB blaster,
Dueler AT Revo Tires27 Sep 2004 15:48 GMT5
I running Dueler AT REVO tires , 30+9.5, on my 2000 TJ. Any
suggestions on proper inflation for regular street driving. The dealer
recommended 35 psi which seems it little high for regular street
driving. A little noisier too..
'74 Wagoneer regulator problem27 Sep 2004 03:40 GMT5
This had an old mechanical regulator that wasn't charging the battery
sufficiently, so I went and got a new one, which is solid-state.  Plugged it
in, it was charging, a little heavy according to my ammeter, I thought, but
thought i was okay since the battery was probably just low.
Gas problem?27 Sep 2004 01:19 GMT4
I'm looking to buy a 81 cj7. It's all original and the engine, carb and smog
controls are stock. The owner says it won't start after sitting for more
than 2 days. It will start and run good if you prime the carb with gas. What
should I look for to try and fix this problem?

'95 YJ Fluid Change27 Sep 2004 00:25 GMT13
'95 YJ w/98K on 2.5 4cyl. Synthetic or natural?  Gaskets or silicone?
My guy at the local 4WD Shop recommends synthetics in the differentials,
transfer case, transmission.  Suggests pulling the covers when draining
and putting them back together with silicone.
limited slip differential26 Sep 2004 22:13 GMT9
Pricing out on edmunds my car.  What exactly does the limited
slip differential option do on a jeep, and is it preferable to have it? I
will be getting the full time 4wd liberty when I order.

repeated fuel pump failures26 Sep 2004 20:00 GMT13
In Aug. 2001, I put a 258 reman in my '89 Wrangler. I installed a new fuel
pump (direct-replacement mechanical) at that time.
About 15-18 or so months later, it failed. It appears to have failed, again,
today. My wife had it at work, 30 miles from home, and she drove it about
Possible to align door on TJ for better seal?26 Sep 2004 14:57 GMT5
The passenger-side door on my 99 Sahara doesn't seal too good resulting in a
lot of wind noise and the occasional minor intrusion of rain or snow. The
rubber seal is in good shape but the door just isn't aligned right. It's not
really noticeable from the outside of the vehicle, but ...
Buying a Cherokee... problems?26 Sep 2004 14:29 GMT6
I am considering the purchase of a 1997 Cherokee 4x4 with the 4.0
inline 6.  The vehicle has 55,000 miles and looks like it's in good
condition with three caveats:
 1) The valve cover gasket appears to be leaking very slightly.

with a Skyjacker OEM steering stabilizer.  It's been a challenge, but

JEEP Jamboree... Are  D-Rings acceptable as tow hooks?25 Sep 2004 20:54 GMT6
I have a 97 jeep wrangler and i have signed up for the mohawk trail
trip fr october 2004.  It says that tow hooks must be "mounted to the
frame with grade eight bolts according to MOPAR instructions." I have
recently purchased a rear rock bumper/ tire carrier which has D-Ring
