04 Wrangler Spark Knocking - Dealer says use 93 octane. True?27 Oct 2004 18:51 GMT30
I am new to jeeps. I just bought a Wrangler X with an automatic as my primary
commute vehicle. I have a terrible commute to work across two lane mountain
roads that takes about an hour and a half every morning. I finally realize that
I would not hate the commute so much in a jeep ...

wiring kit also.
The kit goes in pretty easy but when I reconnected the battery the
Rear Defroster switch is on all the time, including with key off!
Stabilizer bar-"link" need to replace?27 Oct 2004 02:20 GMT5
My stabilizer link on the passenger side

to fix it.
Is it easy to replace it? Can I do it myself?
Looking to learn....27 Oct 2004 02:18 GMT9
I just purchased a '97 Jeep TJ. One thing that has always bugged me, is
quite how inept I am when it comes to under the hood. I would dearly like to
remedy that situation, but I don't know where to start. The main reason I
feel I know nothing is simply that I haven't ever been ...
Help: Choice of best Battery for 89 CHerokee LTD27 Oct 2004 02:11 GMT1
I have an 89 Cherokee LTD that I've had since new.  I've replaced the
battery a few times now as a matter of preventative maintenance.  I've
always felt that the aftermarket choices that I've had were limited, and
ended up with what I've felt are 'small' batteries with only about ...

Hard Starting - 1990 Cherokee27 Oct 2004 00:17 GMT12
A good buddy recently bought a 1990 Cherokee Limited with the 4.0 litre
inline 6.
Every time he tries to start it after it's sat for awhile it takes a looong
time to finally fire.  Time is 8-10 seconds.  With winter coming, he's
Shift Point Adjustment27 Oct 2004 00:12 GMT9
I've been watching the group for awhile and haven't seem much comment
on this, so it's time to ask.
I have a new Unlimited that I am enjoying owning very much. The only
complaint I have it that the automatic transmission doesn't seem to
NSG370 6 Speed in the new TJ27 Oct 2004 00:09 GMT1
I was looking at the specs for the new TJ with the 6 Speed.. It says that it
has a NSG370.. Who is the manufacturer of the 6 speed? The cool thing from
what I have read is.. 1st gear is 5.014:1 which is almost like the NV4500..
But I doubt it has the durablility of the NV4500...

Starter Motor Troubles26 Oct 2004 18:58 GMT2
My starter motor has shorted. The resistance from the hot lead to ground is
something like 0.5 ohms. If I press the contacts on the switch that the
solenoid hits, the resistance goes to about 3.5 ohms.
I connected the starter (clamped in my vise) with jumper cables to a known
Where to get decent prices on shafts?26 Oct 2004 14:55 GMT1
Hey folks,  it seems that I need new front axle shafts on my 98 TJ.  Both inners and
outers, the ears are wallowed out on the stock shafts (its only taken 6 years).  I've
been looking at prices and about had a heartattack!  Anyone know of a good place
(decent deal) to purchase ...
