79 Jeep Cj-5 Dana Oil21 Oct 2004 02:51 GMT1
I recently bought a 79 Jeep Cj-5, I was wondering what type of oil does the
Dana 20 transfer case take? Also, what sort of oil does the 3 speed manual
transmission take? I don't have the manuals or anything for it yet, so any
help at all would be appreciated! Thanks.
Jeep drum brakes....which way is up?21 Oct 2004 01:21 GMT7
I have a question about the parking brake link...this is the piece in the
drum brake where one side has a little spring...it's installed just under
the cylinder... you can install it in a "u" or inverted "u"
position....like:
OT: PING------>   L. W. (Bill) Hughes III21 Oct 2004 00:24 GMT11
Hey Bill,
I know you were big into the sand dune stuff a time ago. I recently got
my hands on a 1971 Bill Stroppe Baja Bronco and was wondering if you
were familiar with them and what you knew about them. I know some people
Removing a lift, who wants some?20 Oct 2004 23:17 GMT5
I'd think that all of the regulars know, I'm taking it down.  You know, 76
jeep CJ-7, lifted, big tires, blah, blah, blah......
I know some of what I need for it: Springs, shocks, and a pitman arm.  What
about the transfer case?  I saw on one of the websites that there was some

Hard top care20 Oct 2004 19:25 GMT11
The hard top on my TJ is black. Are there any things I should do to protect
it from UV? I'd hate to see it turn gray like the flares do.
Thanks!

Jeep Soft Top Questions20 Oct 2004 17:59 GMT10
I bought a soft top for a Jeep Wrangler, and I am hoping that someone
here can tell me what the parts to it are for. I recognize the main top
part, (not shown), and the piece that latches to the windshield header,
but I can not identify two of the other vinyl pieces even after ...
Correct Lift Procedures?20 Oct 2004 15:44 GMT12
I went and looked at an '86 CJ7 today to buy as a second Jeep for the trail
as my "beater" Jeep. It had (apparently) 8" of lift because the guy had put
the leafs over the axles. Is this a correct and good way of doing a lift? I
looked underneath and it just seemed to be putting too ...

How hard is it to change the neutral start switch on a 93 XJ (4.0, auto)?
Appears mine is acting up again and only wants to start in neutral with some
lever wiggling.

LSD on XJ Limited? Plus other questions...20 Oct 2004 11:17 GMT2
Can anyone confirm whether the 94-97 XJ Cherokee Limited's were fitted with
a rear LSD as standard?  I'm specifically talking RHD 4.0ltr Aussie models.
I know that the Sport models had the rear LSD, but I've been given mixed
info on the Ltd.  Is there any was to tell via tags or ...
Comparing 2006 H3 looks to old Jeep Cherokee?20 Oct 2004 09:23 GMT15
H3's do the Rubicon Trail: 33" rubber and electric rear locker.
Now if they can make it 1000lbs lighter and $10-15K cheaper!
Do suppose they'll be good for 200K+ miles?

90  YJ stopped, will not start20 Oct 2004 04:01 GMT3
Stopped at a red light after driving 10 miles.  Accelerated through the
light and all of a sudden, the jeep died.  Lights, gauges, etc. were all ok.
Just the engine stopped.
In checking it found no spark.
