It's Jeep maintenance month around my house, gotta get ready for summer.
On the list of project is changing the oil in the automatic transmission.  It

(I tried to post this last night, but it doesn't seem to have made it.
I'm reposting it. If it shows up twice, I apologize.)
Wow, it's been a few years since I dwelt in the hallowed halls of

Bad Heim Joint28 Feb 2005 18:41 GMT9
Hey all,
The heim joint on my Rubicon Express track bar is getting loose and needs to be
replaced. I'm pretty sure I can find one locally, but a quick web search reveals

'88 Wrangler - What makes it spark ?28 Feb 2005 05:47 GMT4
'88 Wrangler 2.5L, 4cyl, carburated.
Replaced the battery, and in the process apparently knocked or pulled
something loose, now it cranks but doesn't start. I tried to test for spark
by hooking a timing light to plug #1, it's not even flickering at all.

timing chain 4.0L engine27 Feb 2005 15:51 GMT1
I just purchased a 2nd-hand 1994 Cherokee with the 4L six, and I have a
question about the timing chain.  My Honda Accord has overhead valves
driven by a timing belt that must be replaced periodically or else.
Does the timing chain require scheduled replacement?   Do the valves
CLUNKING27 Feb 2005 14:40 GMT6
Okay, so the 98' Cherokee I just picked up (to replace my beloved
wrecked 96) is great, EXCEPT for the severe clunking sound in the right
front somewhere when I hit a bump, pothole, etc.  Drives nice, tight,
tracks well. etc.

Looking at a 90YJ with a 4" lift and 33" tires. Has the 2.5L and the 5spd.
Red, rag top. 180K.  Just how long does the 2.5L last?
thanks
