I have a high milage (150K) 96 Grand Cherokee 4.0 that has developed a pronounced rapping noise. It exists at all engine speeds but is most noticable at low RPM as the engine revs down. It does not seem to be load sensitive and does not vary much with engine temp. I have tried

95 ZJ (automatic, 100k) slips into neutral between 2nd and 3rd. I got the truck 2 years ago and I don't know when the transmission fluid was changed. Would flushing the tranny (and change the filter) solve the problem?

looking at a friend's 98 TJ Sahara, I noticed he doesn't have a sensor I have in my 99 TJ Sport. It's right by where the throttle cable connects in-I have a small sensor that connects back into my coil pack. He has a rubber grommet in the socket with no sensor. Can anyone tell

Ok. I replace the oil sender. (The gauge was occasionally showing some random wandering....40.....30.....25.....35....lbs at 2000 rpm...highway speeds. And then sometimes stay steady around 40 or so.... ) So I replace the sending unit, $75, and all seems well for a while. ...

would a leaking rear seal cause low oil pressure at idle when warm? Jeep in question has 60 psi cold - then drops to 5-10 at idle after it warms up. new mechanical autometer guage too.
