The cable appears to be conencted to the latch mechanism, but there is little resistance and no release. How do I open the hood to check the mechanism?

Can I use rainwater to clean my engine? I am able to contain all of the water to dispose of it properly. We are planning on getting a couple of inches of rain tonight and was curious if the rain would harm the engine in anyway??

I have been lurking around here for a while, and last week I took the plunge and bought my first Wrangler, a new '05 4 cyl. 6-speed SE. Initial cost and mpg were very important, as this will be my daily driver and I cover a lot of ground.

I have a rythmic "took took took" sound in the frontend when it's free wheeling (sound speeds up as the Jeep speeds up), put it into 4wd and the sound is gone...I'm going to look at it tomorrow, but can someone offer me a headsup as to what I might be looking at?

I noticed at http://www.jeep.com/jeep_life/events/jamborees/experience/faq.html , they mention that "2004 Jeep Grand Cherokees with Quadra-Trac I?? systems are not allowed". Why is this? I don't have one, I'm just curious.

Any opinion on replacing the OEM driving lights. The original OEM are junk (Taiwan), just replaced one and it is already starting to fade and rust in 6 months... I would like to keep as simple as possible on the wiring connections and fit

This is maybe a stupid question, if so, IM SORRY! would it be possible to pull the guts out of a vehicle that has a in mirror compass and move it to another vehicle? How do they work?? I saw the one on quadratec, wondering if there is a "budget" option?
